Nas in Central Park

I tripped when I read about Nas's comments regarding George W. during his Central Park concert. The sad thing is that I've never really kept up with Nas, even though he's a pretty major reference point. So I didn't know he called white people "devils." As usual, O-Dub cuts to the chase, in this case, honing in on the weakness of calling Bush "gangsta."

Davey D and O-Dub

Some recent articles that caught my eye include this incisive discussion of voting and politics in an interview with Davey D and Oliver Wang's comments on various hip hop products in light of the 25th anniversary of Rapper's Delight.

Hip Hop Albums Updated

I'm finally back to work on netweed and I started by updating Hip Hop Albums. Actually, I was getting it up to date with summer releases. It's been an interesting summer so far and August has a lot of cool looking albums coming out. So I've got more to add soon.

Like a Lizard in the Sun

No, that's not the title of my first album. It's how I feel, creeping back into action, but good, full of life.

Which is somewhat amazing since I'm now working in a grocery store moving shit around and talking nice to customers. The job isn't so bad but I work with a crew that's a combination of people who won't even look at you as you walk by, nut cases and assorted folks who may or may not be ok. Check this out, I made a joke to two people that I really wasn't cut out for manual labor. Not a very funny joke, but something to share with a coworker when you're exhausted. A few days later, it was one of the main points on my performance review. Then I found out from someone on another crew that it was a public point of discussion when I wasn't there.

You know, I hate it when gossiping bitches front like they're men. It reminds me of certain blogs I used to read.

In any case, I'm back. Some things have changed. Some will remain the same.
