8th Annual Hiphop Appreciation Week Celebrates FREEDOM

Atlanta, Georgia and Portland, Oregon annually continue with week full of events

Atlanta, GA APRIL 27, 2005. May 15th - 22nd marks the 8th Annual Hip Hop Appreciation Week. Our theme this year is Freedom. Different from Liberty, which has to do with moving freely about ones environment, freedom is a condition that is experienced within ones self. That is why the Temple of Hiphop created Hiphop Appreciation Week to celebrate the kulture of HIPHOP and to allow Hiphoppas to set aside the 3rd week of May to speak out about the truth of HIPHOP. To educate and help decriminalize HIPHOP in the eyes of ALL people. To build the movement Internationally by having it recognized publicly with upliftment, empowerment and productive growth for all of human kind.

Atlanta, Georgia and Portland, Oregon are known annually to continue forth the efforts of Hiphop Appreciation Week. During the week, both cities produced quality events that create discussions around the concept of freedom engaging the youth, parents and educators. The importance is dialogue first but ultimately implementing plans of actions for our communities with Hiphop as a tool to motivate all generations, states Allan C. Williams, head Organizer in Portland, Oregon. Minister Server of the Temple of Hiphop adds, The Kulture of HIPHOP brings great meaning and purpose to all of our lives. We need to look beyond just concepts of freedom from political or social points of view and environment and widen our views and explore what freedom means on a more personal and spiritual point of view. Both Cities look to do so! For more information on the week visit - www.templeofhiphop.org or www.hiphopappreciationweek.org
