Crunk Magazine Falls Under New Management;
Desmick Perkins Deviates From the Norm

ATLANTA, Ga., July 7, 2005 -- Desmick Perkins, former publisher of CRUNK?
Magazine will launch a new urban lifestyle and entertainment magazine, DV8. The premiere issue of DV8 Magazine will be available October 2005, as CRUNK Magazine will continue to publish under new management.

The word crunk is suffering from overuse, and in an effort to give our readers new subjects of interest, we are reinventing our format and our brand, says Desmick Perkins, who published the Atlanta based Crunk Magazine in 2002. I want to bring you a new concept that veers from the straight and narrowAdventures only begin when you go off road.

The transition comes after a glamorized (and highly successful) commercial use of the word crunk, a term used to describe a form or lifestyle that originated in Atlanta, Ga., and popularized by Atlanta artist Lil Jon.

According to Perkins, the new publication will feature the diversity that exists in the urban hip-hop genre with feature articles, exclusive interviews with todays hottest entertainers, music and movie reviews, and fashion and technology columns.

DV8 will also quench its subscribers thirst for Hollywood happenings and celebrity reports from West Coast Editor, Eugenia Wright and feature sizzling photos from West Coast photojournalist Lydia Alexis. The accompanying newsletter sent out every week via e-mail will reflect the new name immediately.

DV8 Magazine will be distributed nationwide and will have a circulation of 50,000.
