Winner of the 1st Diamond in the Rough to perform

at the Summerfest Concert in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the 8th Annual Atlantis Music Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, the 4th Annual Mid-Atlantic Music Conference, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Dreamcatchers Entertainment / BME Hottest Up & Coming Artist Showcase, in Atlanta, Georgia, and also receive Recording Studio time and CD Duplication (valued at $5,000)

The 4th Annual Mid-Atlantic Music Conference, the number one destination for music industry education and networking in the Mid-Atlantic States, organized and sponsored the Diamond in the Rough Showcase held at the Room, July 9, 2005 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The overall winner, Shelly B, earned the right to perform, center stage at 4 events, as well as studio time and cd duplication services. She had a very powerful performance that .gave her the edge above the competition on the judges scores. The runner ups, Wolly Vinyl and Gneiss, also earned a spot to perform at the Midatlantic Music Conference, on October 7-9, 2005 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Diamond in the Rough event boasted a vast variety of talents and styles. Eight performers took the stage and according to the results, all had riveting performances that impressed The Rooms crowd. Everyone was treated to underground hiphop technicians who had impressive freestyling abilities, commercial radio friendly artists, diverse multi-ethnic styled groups, crossover r&b/hiphop performers, down south crowd moving call and response artists, and females who held their own with commanding stage prowess. Those who performed were: Ike Turner, Pol B, Wolly Vinyl, GQ& Soft Spoken, Evin, Mic Burna, Gneiss, JT Duce, and Shelly B.

The event helped to promote the midatlantic regions music scene and also bring awareness to the need for a unification to make the region a major hub in the industry.

The 2005 Diamond in the Rough Artist Showcase is one in a series of events on The Road to the Mid-Atlantic Music Conference, see www.midatlanticmusic.com. The Road to the Mid-Atlantic Music Conference is a series of live music events allowing local up and coming bands, solo artist(s), musicians, writers and singers the opportunity to network with industry insiders and hone their performance skills, all for the chance to perform center stage at the 4th Annual Mid-Atlantic Music Conference, taking place in Charlotte, NC, October 7-9, 2005. The events cross all genres of music and will last through September.

Next up on The Road to the Mid-Atlantic Music Conference are the Breaking Out Talent Search Tour, www.rbentertainment.biz and the 2005 Zippo Hot Tour, www.zippohottour.com, coming to Charlotte in September. To date, the conference has showcased over 220 signed and unsigned artists. This year, 100 lucky artist(s) will perform over the 3 day event in 6 of Charlottes hottest performance venues including The Room, The Visulite, Tremont Music Hall and The Evening Muse to name a few.
