Premier Experience Venue to be Unveiled During New York Fashion Week

WESTPORT, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 2005--Style and luxury have found a new home! Courvoisier® cognac, one of the world's most-luxurious cognacs, announced today the launch of "The House of Courvoisier" - an exclusive venue for experiencing the finest in entertainment, fashion and art. Debuting during two days of activities at New York Fashion Week, the highly anticipated The House of Courvoisier will appear at major events across the country, including the NBA All Star Game and the BET Awards, heralding the arrival of the best of the best, including the favored cognac of Napoleon himself.

The House of Courvoisier will be unveiled to the world on Sept 13 and 14 in New York at the Sky Studios - a multi-million dollar two story ultra-luxury Manhattan penthouse which once housed a hat factory. Furnished to reflect the decadent nature of the brand, The House of Courvoisier will serve host to a series of co-sponsored events, highlighting a broad spectrum of the finest in urban culture. It is conceived as a home to not only the most exclusive cognac in the world, but also the entre for the most discerning individuals in America to experience the luxury and style that has been associated with the Cognac of Napoleon for hundreds of years.

The House of Courvoisier will be hosted by Courvoisier Ambassadrice Nina Shay, who just wrapped up the first leg of her nationwide "Earn It Tour," which introduced Courvoisier and the finer points of cognac to consumers and such celebrities as The Ying Yang Twins, Wendy Williams, Gerald Levert, NBA great Chris Webber and radio legend Donnie Simpson. The House of Courvoisier private events scheduled for New York Fashion Week include:

* Tuesday, September 13, early evening: Random House/Doubleday will sponsor the launch event for its debut African American Fall release "HUNG" by former VIBE executive editor Scott Poulson-Bryant. This cocktail event promises to bring out the top literary and cultural icons in New York. In addition to VIBE, Poulson-Bryant has written for Source magazine, New York magazine, Spin, The Village Voice, The New Yorker, New York and Los Angeles Times and appears regularly on television as a critic of both popular and urban culture. He has profiled several of the top icons of the era including Sean "Diddy" Combs, Lenny Kravitz, LL Cool J, and Quincy Jones to name a few. "HUNG" is his first novel and looks to be a runaway hit.
* Tuesday, September 13, late evening: Trace magazine celebrates their Styles Ahead issue "The Outsiders" with The House of Courvoisier. Trace is one of the world's edgiest fashion books addressing a truly hip multicultural consumer. Its pages are shot by the world's top photographers and feature a rainbow of the most sought-after models on the international stage. Trace is, from cover to cover, a celebration of the world's top models of color! Trace magazine covers have featured such greats as Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, Lauren Hill, Shakara and Erykah Badu, to name a few. During the evening there will be live musical performances in the drawing room and dancing in the main upper penthouse featuring music by D-Nice.
* Wednesday, September 14, early evening: Courvoisier teams with VIBE Magazine for a celebrity fundraiser for the American Red Cross. All proceeds from this private event will go to benefit Hurricane Katrina disaster relief efforts.
* Wednesday, September 14, late evening: Courvoisier has exclusively commissioned a special edition of America magazine featuring a 42 page photo essay featuring Penelope Cruz and Sean "Diddy" Combs shot by world-renown photographer Peter Lindberg. We will unveil the special edition at a celebration at the House of Courvoisier. The musical director for this special evening will be the remarkable Biz Markie.
