Music by Yellow Dog Records Artists Featured Throughout the Film "Hustle & Flow"
Music from several artists on the Yellow Dog Records label contributes to the distinctive musical atmosphere of the major motion picture Hustle & Flow, released today by Paramount/MTV.
(PRWEB) July 22, 2005 -- Music from several artists on the Yellow Dog Records label contributes to the distinctive musical atmosphere of the major motion picture Hustle & Flow, released today by Paramount/MTV.
Director Craig Brewer set the entire film in his native Memphis, and insisted on using authentic Memphis music throughout. Brewer had in mind sounds from classic soul and blaxploitation grooves and called on Memphis musician/producer Scott Bomar to compose the films score. Bomar recorded it with musicians from The Bo-Keys, including Skip Pitts and Willie Hall.
Pitts, longtime guitarist for Isaac Hayes, is known for his iconic wah-wah guitar in Shaft. Hall was the drummer for several of Hayes' albums including "Shaft" and "Hot Buttered Soul" and his signature tight hi-hat pattern weaves throughout the movie. In an interview with the Memphis Commercial Appeal, filmmaker John Singleton ("Boyz N the Hood"), the executive producer of Hustle & Flow, enthused, To have these classic musicians is the icing on the cake to shooting a little movie in Memphis.
The Bo-Keys debut album, The Royal Sessions, was nationally released by Yellow Dog Records in May 2004 to international acclaim from major media outlets including NPRs All Things Considered (which deemed the album a Memphis tour-de-force), NPRs Fresh Air, USA Today, The London Times, New Yorker, and House of Blues Radio Hour. The Bo-Keys, made up of a mix of veteran Stax session musicians and young Memphis up-and-comers, were also nominated for a W.C. Handy award for The Royal Sessions.
In addition to the Bo-Keys score, tracks by several other Yellow Dog artists with Memphis ties are included throughout the films background. Calvin Newborns After Hours Blues provides a sultry background to an early scene in Darnells bar, while Mark Lemhouses Edwins Lament plays during a pivotal episode in a pawnshop. Under the Mountain, a spirited bluegrass-style composition by Jason Freeman (Bluff City Backsliders) provides the intro as the films main character drives to a convenience store.

Crooked I's Long Awaited Album: 'Boss Music' Will be released Oct. 4th
West Coast rapper Crooked I is finally releasing his album 'Boss Music: The Beginning of Something Serious' on Oct. 4th. The album is a long awaited project due to prolonged legal issues with Suge Knight and Death Row Records.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 22, 2005 -- West Coast rapper Crooked I is finally releasing his album 'Boss Music: The Beginning of Something Serious' on Oct. 4th. The album is a long awaited project due to prolonged legal issues with Suge Knight and Death Row Records.
Hands down, as the most anticipated album from the most critically acclaimed west coast artist to have never released an album, Crooked I is free and clear to finally deliver what the streets have been craving.
Featured on the cover of the July/August issue of RIME Magazine, Crooked I chronicles the details of his tumultuous ride from Death Row Records (now Tha Row) to his present situation with Treacherous/Universal records. The long awaited album entitled B.O.S.S. Music (Beginning of Something Serious) will drop in October and promises to be worth the wait.
Previously stunted by legal issues sustained by Suge Knight and Death Row Records, after five-years and a recent court battle Crooked I is officially released from Death Row Records.
Crooked I has wasted no time getting back into the studio with hit producer Scott Storch (Beyonce, Fat Joe, Mario, 50 Cent). The first Storch produced track, Cali Boys adds fire to a topic Crooked I knows all to well as a Long Beach native, and pays homage to the coast that has held him down from day one.
B.O.S.S Music is a breakaway from your typical west coast gangstaisms and is more a social commentary on how the West puts it down from politics to street life with some hot club banger's thrown in just because he can. The second single 20inch Wires shows how sparks fly when Southern California connects with the Durty South as Bun B joins him on another scorching Scott Storch track.
In addition to his artistic abilities, Crooked I is his own boss with his own label, Dynasty Records, recently signed by Treacherous/Universal Records. (www.westcoastdynasty.com)
In a recent appearance on BET's Rap City, Crooked I expressed his satisfaction at being made a priority at Treacherous. Receiving high praise from the likes of Scratch Magazine, XXL and the Source Magazine for having one of the hottest mix tapes on the streets, Young Boss Vol 1, he has gained the respect by many as being one of the best of all times.
Even Sway, MTV News Correspondent sounded off to give props to the west coast's best-kept secret. You got Biggie, Xzibit, Tupac, Eminem, and Jay- Z. Crooked I is in that top five! Having had the best of hip-hop legends on his renowned syndicated "Wake Up Show," Sway guarantees that Crooked I can hang with the greatest. The streets have waited a long time for this and they want to see him win. Once B.O.S.S Music hits the streets, the rest of the world will agree he is the best on the west.
A patient and level-headed genius who looks at his past years of misfortune as a learning experience, Crooked I wants to walk away from it all with respect and holds no hard feelings toward his prior label. Instead, Crooked I is using what he has gained in his ventures to re-establish himself and his own 'Dynasty.' His main goal is to revamp Westcoast classic [rap]. Crooked I hopes to bring the 'life experiences' back into Westcoast music through his albums and allow the 'little' guys, up and coming in the rap game, to take part in this evolution as well.

The princess of freestyles is back and better than ever.
New York, New York - July 13, 2005 After a two year hiatus, Lady Luck,
is reborn. Back with a new look, new sound and a new and improved outlook on life and this rap game she is ready to take over.
You may remember Lady Luck from her spontaneous freestyles on New
Yorks radio station Hot 97, or from her performances on Redmans 2001
Malpractice toureither way, you remember Luck.
You may have also heard rumors that Lady Luck was taken out of the game by Terror Squads, Remy Martin, during an underground fight club MC battle in New
York City. Well, thats what you heard! Lucks never been taken down and with that said, listen to the battle and you be the judge.
The rebirth of this lady is evident on her latest mix tape, appropriately entitled The Rebirth of a Lady. Her sound is improved; its crisper, sexy, and smooth and all on top of crazy beats. On the CD, Luck ushers in her rebirth with unforgettable, quick tongued, down and gritty rhymes, all apparent on tracks Luck is Home and Nothing. She further demonstrates her lyrical prowess as she cleverly expresses her dislike of none other than Remy Martin, on Fuck Remy. Yes, Fuck Remy. Then Luck switches gears by keeping it sexy on Nasty Girls, featuring G-Units Olivia, and Come Home with Me and she, of course, keeps the party jumping with the contagious, ass-shaking track Get Naked.
Luck is lyrically still on top of her game and with the female rap scene as it stands currently, she is a breath of fresh air and a definite force to be reckoned with.
Look out for rebirth of a Lady at a corner near you and catch her highly anticipated single when it drops later this summer.

World Famous DJ Vibe to Spin at P. Diddys White Party
DALLAS, TX JULY 21, 2005 World Famous DJ Vibe will spin at P. Diddys White Party on Labor Day Sunday at The Star Room in the Hamptons. Vibe who also DJed P.Diddys 4th of July Party earlier this month, has also spun for A List clients such as Sean Kinney, Jill Jacobson, Miramax Films, Phat Farm Clothing and the Island/Def Jam Music Group. Vibes upcoming events will include the Young Gunz II Movie Premiere Party and a Hustler Magazine Party along with a host other events in the works.
ABOUT DJ VIBE
----------------------------------------
From interning in the promotions department at Island/Def Jam to releasing and selling his own mixtapes across the nation, DJ Vibe became a popular face in a world flooded with hideous tapes that duplicated their competitors. He began to release old school mix CDs to the various distributors from Canal Street and Fulton Street to Jamaica Avenue and Fordham Road. "No one had ever just made exclusively old school CDs and people kept buying mine. I carved out a niche for myself even though I knew I could never be a best seller, said Vibe. It was the only way I was able to stay competitive." Nevertheless, Vibe has continued launching his career from spinning at The Star Room in the Hamptons to DJing at upcoming Polo Match in Bridgehampton sponsored by Mercedes-Benz.

Look Effects Provides Groundbreaking Visual FX to Nocturnal Rage Music Video
Leading visual effects firm adds their talent to Hip Hop trios' video "Way Out."
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) July 21, 2005 -- Look Effects, the Hollywood-based visual effects company whose credits include "The Life Aquatic," "The Passion of the Christ," "Malcolm in the Middle" and "CSI: NY," has just completed work on the upcoming music video by the acclaimed Hip Hop trio Nocturnal Rage. Look Effects (http://www.lookfx.com), renowned for its visual effects work in feature film, television and commercial productions, continues to make a name for itself in the music video arena with the completion of this project.
Look Effects added visual effects to approximately 15 shots for the Nocturnal Rage music video "Way Out" including the creation of 3 different retro backgrounds, massive color corrections, and a number of highly complex transitions that have never been achieved before in the realm of music video production. Look Effects was brought aboard the project by Producer Jesse Berger with Blatant Pictures to create a video that would have the same smooth look and feel as the fluidity of the popular trio's music. The resulting production is nothing short of spectacular.
"Look Effects brought the meticulous nature and inordinate level of detail necessary for feature films to our work on this project," said Marlo J. Pabon, Visual Effects Supervisor with Look Effects. "Most music videos do not have the extraordinary transitions this video does. I think the results are outstanding and will set a new bar in terms of the level and professionalism of music video production."
"We very much enjoyed working with Nocturnal Rage and Blatant Pictures on the development of this music video," said Josh Comen, Visual Effects Producer with Look Effects. "We look forward to continuing to extend our expertise and talents to additional artists and their music videos."
"We were extremely pleased with the quality, level of work and results from Look Effects on this project," said Jesse Berger, Producer with Blatant Pictures. "The 'Way Out' video concept demanded an array of film formats ranging from Hi-Def to Super 16mm and Super 8mm, putting a tough job on our visual effects team to incorporate everything seamlessly. We shot this video like a feature film and the Look Effects signature feature film approach to the production made for a perfect match. We look forward to working with them again soon."
Look Effects recently completed work on "CSI: NY" and is currently working on the upcoming season of Malcolm in the Middle as well as a number of soon to be announced film and television projects.

"From the beginning, we set out to create a game that provides consumers with an unbelievable entertainment experience while opening a window into a sub-culture that has previously been ignored."
"Atari is committed to changing the way players interpret and interact with its games and Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure is an ideal example of that new direction," said Marc Metis, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Atari, Inc. "The inclusion of such a renowned mix of celebrity talent is one small element that not only enhances the story-telling aspect of the game, but underscores the commitment of both Atari and *ecko unltd. in providing a completely compelling and entertaining video game."
The following celebrities will lend their considerable voice talents to the game:
* Sean "P. Diddy" Combs -- a pop culture icon, composer, producer
director and actor, P. Diddy lends his voice to DIP, a member of
Trane's rival crew, Vandals of New Radius;
* Rosario Dawson -- famous for her roles in Sin City and Men in Black II,
she plays the voice of Tina, the girlfriend of Gabe, the leader of the
Vandals of New Radius crew;
* Brittany Murphy -- has appeared in 8 Mile and Little Black Book, she
will voice the aggressive and ambitious television reporter, Karen
Light;
* George Hamilton -- known for his roles in The Godfather: Part III and
Hollywood Ending, he will voice Mayor Sung, a cagey politician who's
risen to the top slot in the city of New Radius;
* Giovanni Ribisi -- featured in films such as Boiler Room, Sky Captain
and the World of Tomorrow, and Cold Mountain, Ribisi will voice KRY1,
a member of Trane's Still Free Crew;
* Adam West -- the original Batman from the television series lends his
voice to the Chief William Hunt character;
* Andy Dick -- comedian who appeared in Zoolander and Old School, Dick
plays the voice of Aunt Beth, a ruthless female boss of the Vandal
Squad;
* Charlie Murphy -- best known for his appearances on "Chappelle's Show,"
Murphy is the voice of White Mike, another member of Trane's Still
Free Crew;
* The RZA -- the founding member of hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan now known
for composing the music of films such as Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Kill
Bill: Volume 2, he will voice the character Stake, leader of the
Wrong-Way Assassins;

Bass and featured in the film Bamboozled, he will voice one of the
main characters, Gabe, leader of the Vandals of New Radius crew.

Northstarr makes Christian Hip Hop more popular than ever!
Los Angeles, CA -- July 20, 2005 -- Before you begin to formulate
Thoughts about NorthStarr (*aka* NS), a Christian Hip Hop music group,
NorthStarr's sound will definitely be the break through group that
popular radio stations will play in heavy rotation. The group is
composed of 5 members: DTM, T-Dogg, Sam-Bam, E-roc, AV, ranging from
16-18 years old, each providing a very unique sound, reflective of
their
different talents. It's Hard to imagine a Hip Hop song without
profanity, degrading women, violent and drug lyrics and still being the
hottest Hip Hop group ever. B2K's Raz-B, reveals, "NS is definitely a
Hip Hop group that will make waves in the industry. They don't have a
preachy sound, they just have an upbeat, fun, and fresh message that
all
are going to gravitate to."
No newcomer to the streets, they were raised in the troubled towns of
Compton and South Central in Los Angeles where fighting to live and be
on the right side of the track is a constant battle. T-Dogg shares, "It
was only our faith in God, that we've been able to avoid and escape the
daily drive-bys, deadly fights, shoot-outs, and the temptations of
going
down the wrong path." They believe that being "in" doesn't mean that
they have to compromise their beliefs. They are very popular in high
school, and are trendsetters. DTM states, "We were looking for someone
to follow, someone to lead us in the Hip Hop industry, but I believe if
it takes us to be the leaders, with the help of God, we will be the
leaders that we were looking for."
According to their Manager Linda Luna, "Everyone can expect hot music.
Some might be turned off because they may hear the word "God or Jesus"
in some of their songs, and automatically think that it is not hip, but
that couldn't be furthest from the truth. We have hot producers working
with us such as Keith McMasters who has made hits for Chingy, Ludacris,
and Boyz in Da Hood of Bad Boys South camp. Keith says "NorthStarr
provides a fresh new, clean, positive, and fun sound that can be heard
on the radio, in the clubs, and in the church". NS wants people to know
that their music will be just as trendy as 50 cent and Jay-Z, but the
lyrical content will just provide a powerful clean message.
NorthStarr is a contemporary, fresh and innovative Christian Hip Hop
group that will provide a refreshing alternative to those who love the
music and beats, but want more than that, want quality music all the
way
around. They are the alternative for teenagers and adults who want to
make a difference in their worlds.

TERRY MCMILLAN'S HOMOPHOBIC STATEMENTS DANGEROUS SAYS PSYCHOLOGY OF HIP HOP AUTHOR
New York
Sparks have been flying between Terry McMillan and her husband Jonathan Plummer, as McMillan hurls insults, and drops a juicy plot that rivals any lust laced fiction. A literary titan, penning novels such as Waiting To Exhale and How Stella Got Her Groove Back, McMillan filed for a divorce from her Jamaican born love amid accusations that he is gay. Reported too, is that McMillan prefers an annulment. I dont want to negate the torment that Terry McMillan has to endure during this time in her life, but she does sound like a tempestuous homophobe, says Mental Health Therapist and Personal Advisor to the stars, Terence McPhaul. Ending a relationship is a difficult process, however, it concerns me when I hear Terry [McMillan] make inflammatory statements about gay men as if they alone are the cause of the entire AIDS pandemic. McPhaul adds, Her misguided statements can be dangerous. The fact of the matter is, that no one should venture outside of a committed relationship, McPhaul opines.
To clarify further McPhaul, who is author of The Psychology of Hip Hop and The Celebrity Psyche says, there are individuals who have contracted HIV/AIDS through sharing needles and other means, so the necessity of a person to know the sexual history of a partner is not negated because a person is heterosexual. It is true that men on the down-low do exist, but this is not a new occurrence, however, only recently has it been sensationalized; mostly by individuals who would rather not have to take responsibility for their own behavior, said McPhaul.
Of course, there are men and women out there who act irresponsibly, knowing of their HIV/AIDS status and failing to disclose this to a sexual partner. And while this act may be unconscionable, gay men alone are not to blame. To date, there is no reported evidence that her husband has exposed her to HIV/AIDS, yet the melodrama continues. Obviously, the divorce proceedings and public discussions have created a difficult climate for Plummer who is McMillans junior by 23 years. Terry is obviously angry, and her ego suffered a significant blow. Given her personality, I am not surprised at the measures she has taken to exact revenge on her estranged husband, McPhaul said.
McPhaul is regularly sought by program directors of TV talk shows and national media as an expert in the field of Mental Health, to deliver perspective or respond to programming regarding social and behavioral issues. McPhaul has appeared as a Mental Health expert for Court TV, and Bill OReillys The OReilly Factor for FOX News.

Indie Label Scores Podcasting Hit on iTunes
Alpha Pup Records, a small independent label based in Los Angeles, enjoys massive success with its DJ-mixed podcast on iTunes. The "Alternative Hip-Hop Lounge" has attracted over 40,000 subscribers since its launch on July 1st, and shows no signs of slowing down.
(PRWEB) July 21, 2005 -- Alpha Pup Records, a Los Angeles-based independent record label, has become one of the first true underdog success stories in the podcasting phenomenon. Since the launch of iTunes 4.9 on June 28, podcasting has caught on like wildfire, with iTunes users racking up over a million subscriptions within the first two days.
Alpha Pup Records was one of the first independent labels to deliver a music podcast. Blending avant-garde rap with experimental electronic beats, Alpha Pup's "Alternative Hip-Hop Lounge" podcast debuted on July 1, and was added to the iTunes Podcast Directory on July 3. Since then, it's been nothing but a skyrocket up the iTunes Top 100 Podcast Chart.
Initially entering the Top 100 Podcast Chart on July 9 at #96, the "Alternative Hip-Hop Lounge" reached #77 within 24 hours, and then cracked the Top 50 on July 11. Alpha Pup's podcast has maintained that position ever since. Without feature positioning or banner placement, the label's podcast has been charting higher than offerings from ESPN, CNN, ABC, BBC, and even podcast pioneer KCRW.
"We're simply astonished," said Daddy Kev, co-owner of the underground hip-hop label. "To think that a label of our size can compete with multi-billion dollar media conglomerates on a broken shoe-string budget... it's an impossible dream come true."
Co-owned by business partner/fiancee Danyell Jariel, Alpha Pup is a small independent record label, operating out of Kev and Danyell's two-bedroom home near Downtown Los Angeles. "The recording studio and label office -- I mean, our two desks -- are in one bedroom, and we sleep in the other," Kev explained. "The garage is the stockroom, and we do most of our mailings on the kitchen table or on the couch."
Despite their modest surroundings, the success of Alpha Pup's podcast has been worldwide. On the iTunes Podcast Charts in Europe, the "Alternative Hip-Hop Lounge" is on fire, charting #7 in France, #12 in Italy, and Top 30 in the United Kingdom and Germany. In less than a month, the "Alternative Hip-Hop Lounge" podcast has gained an astronomical number of subscribers, over 40,000 worldwide.
"I give most of the credit to the artists who are featured on the podcast because it shows that quality independent music can prevail in an industry dominated by big business," said Danyell. "Our artist roster is a very close knit family, and we couldn't be happier for the awareness this is generating for them."
Established in 2004, Alpha Pup Records is an artist-owned and operated indie label, specializing in underground hip-hop and experimental electronic music. Signed artists include AWOL One, Daddy Kev, Busdriver, The Grouch, Existereo, Ricci Rucker and Paris Zax. "Alternative Hip-Hop Lounge: Episode 2" mixed by Los Angeles producer Omid was released July 15. Alpha Pup has plans to release two podcasts a month, featuring music from it's catalog, and creatively mixed by Alpha Pup artists and affiliates.

The Wait is Over as Crooked I Drops the Beginning of Something Serious
The hip-hop world has been anxiously awaiting the release of Suge Knights secret weapon on Death Row. Now that he has left "Tha Row" Crooked I is calling the shots and releasing his debut album on his own imprint through Treacherous /Universal Records.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 21, 2005 -- Hands down, as the most anticipated album from the most critically acclaimed west coast artist to have never released and album; former Death Row records artist, Crooked I, is free and clear to finally deliver what the streets have been craving.
The first Storch produced track, "Cali Boys" adds fire to a topic Crooked I knows all to well as a Long Beach native, and pays homage to the coast that has held him down from day one. B.O.S.S Music is a breakaway from your typical west coast gangstaisms and is more a social commentary on how the West puts it down from politics to street life with some hot club bangers thrown in just because he can. The second single "20inch Wires" shows how sparks fly when Southern California connects with the Durty South as Bun B joins him on another scorching Scott Storch track.
In addition to his artistic abilities, Crooked I is his own boss with his own label, Dynasty Records, recently signed by Treacherous/Universal Records. (www.westcoastdynasty.com) In a recent appearance on BETs Rap City, Crooked I expressed his satisfaction at being made a priority at Treacherous. Receiving high praise from the likes of Scratch Magazine, XXL and the Source Magazine for having one of the hottest mixtapes on the streets, Young Boss Vol 1., He has gained the respect by many as being one of the best of all times. Even Sway, MTV News Correspondent sounded off to give props to the west coast's best-kept secret. "You got Biggie, Xzibit, Tupac, Eminem, and Jay- Z. CROOKED I is in that TOP five!" Having had the best of hip-hop legends on his renowned syndicated "Wake Up Show," Sway guarantees that Crooked I can hang with the greatest.
Instead Crooked I is using all that he has gained in his ventures to re-establish himself and his own 'Dynasty.' His main goal: to revamp Westcoast classic (rap). Crooked I hopes to bring the 'life experiences' back into Westcoast music through his albums and allow the 'little' guys, up and coming in the rap game, to take part in this evolution as well.

Recording Artist K-CINO Searching For A Cure With 'A Better Way Foundation'
Aims To Aid Hodgskin's Disease Patients, Among Others
Manhattan, NY (PRWEB) June 21, 2005 -- K-CINO, the headlining artist on "Tha Awakening Tour", the largest hip hop tour to hit the nation this Fall, has formed a non-profit organization called 'A Better Way Foundation' to aid and support cancer patients. K-CINO, along with other memebers of the Board of Directors of SSC Records, established this foundation not only to further develop scientific methods of cancer research, but also to help individual patients cope with the harsh realities of terminal diseases.
"Seeing the day to day struggles of a cancer patient first hand, with my cousin and co-CEO of SSC Records battling Hodgskin's Disease, I learned how difficult it is not only physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Most of the cancer support organizations are aimed to aid the patient in the physical, but not in the mental or emotional sense. I also wanted to make sure that we included a program for friends and families, because cancer is almost as hard on them as it is on the patient."
K-CINO continued by saying, "...you know, people say there isn't anything you can do for terminally-ill patients; I say that's bullsh*t. They gave my cousin a month to live on his deathbed, and look at him now. Even if we can't cure cancer, we can at least make it as comfortable as possible for the patients, so they want to live, and they want to continue fighting."
K-CINOs second full-length album entitled, The Bottom Line, Executive Produced by D/R Period (http://www.drperiodmusic.com), featuring many celebrity collaborations, due in stores this Fall.

About Inventos
Eli Jacobs-Fantauzzi is a graduate of Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Eli's first full-length film documentary,Inventos: Hip Hop Cubano, premiered in Havana, Cuba and has toured successfully across the U.S. Cuban Hip Hop provides a unique insight into the realities and politics of contemporary Cuba. Experience this as Inventos follows some of the pioneers of this musical movement to their homes, the stage and as they travel abroad for the first time. Inventos embodies the true spirit of Hip Hop, which is to build something that is powerful and useful out of what is seemingly impossible. Just as Hip Hop in the U.S. began as a form of creative self _expression bringing awareness to oppressive social conditions, Cuban Hip Hop demonstrates the innovative and indestructible spirit born from a people suppressed by the U.S. embargo on Cuba. Inventos, serves as a reminder of the political consciousness through which this music was created. Thirty years after its conception, and in spite of commercialization, Hip Hop culture continues to give voice to people who refuse to be silenced, ignored and cut off from the larger society. The film shows how both cultures reflect similar social struggles and if brought together, could transcend cultural barriers and build a collective community dedicated to spreading messages of truth and empowerment globally. Jacobs-Fantauzzi's film rekindles an essence of the old school, which will inspire and reawaken the eyes of our present generations.

Vince "Da Produca" Carter Official Member of LiL Fella Productions LLC
Philadelphia, PA - July 17, 2005
LiL Fella Productions LLC has signed Vince "Da Produca" Carter to fill the position as Staff Producer. He comes to us from Philadelphia, PA, where he was an unsigned producer. Vince "Da Produca" Carter role will vary as a Staff Producer, producing music for signed and unsigned recording artist and other entertainment projects.
He was discovered a year ago and within that year producing many tracks for LiL Fella Productions. During that time we have discovered his unique style and signature sound at the same time developing a relationship.
As a youth, music has been in his blood from the early years, playing various instruments such as the piano, viola, violin, cello, trumpet, cornet, recorder, guitar, bass, and little drums. He took up the piano at the age of seven at Settlement Music School in West Philadelphia. His classical talents got him into one of the top magnet schools in the city: The Girard Academic Music Program, better known as G.A.M.P. While attending G.A.M.P. from middle school to high school graduation, he was involved in several activities: orchestra, string ensemble, concert choir, television, and basketball. Besides the activities, Vince has sung for and with Bill Clinton, Governor Ed Rendall, Peter Nero and the Philly Pops and has performed at the Academy of Music with the Philadelphia orchestra.
His songwriting began at the age of six, writing about what he saw in his dreams and his producing career began at the age of 16, working with only a cheap Yamaha keyboard. It started off as a joke until people started to like it, so he saved his money to come up with a mini-studio. Producing slowly helped him climbed the ladder, sending him to do work in the states of Philadelphia, Maryland, Washington D.C., and New Jersey.
While trying to get material on the radio as well as a deal, he was turned down several times because he wasn't taken seriously. With all hope gone, he saved money to acquire his partner in crime, a Phantom keyboard. Vince came roaring back getting a buzz all around the city of Philadelphia and was the hot producer to work with. Since then, he has been offered gigs with Hollewood, Philly's Most Wanted, and several other rappers and singers. His personality is the key to his success and his song ideas are out of this world.
For more information, please contact Keena Johnson at (609) 771-8684.

Branching Out in the Business: A Guide to Mixing Music with Fashion
Kerry Gordy joins top music industry executives and artists who are launching profitable apparel lines. Gordys music business experiences lead him to lucrative ventures within the fashion industry.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 20, 2005--Russell Simmons began Phat Farm. Sean P. Diddy Combs created Sean John. Jennifer Lopez launched J. Lo. Britney Spears got Curious. Do we see a pattern here? And, is there a lucrative link between music industry executives and artists with the fashion, cosmetics, and fragrance industries? Apparently so. According to www.hoovers.com, in 2004, the P. Diddy related Sean John made $2.8 million for example.
Celebrities understand the money that can be made by putting their names on multiple products, says one industry insider, Weve all seen this done before, but today we see those who are able to pull it off really well, bringing even more millions of dollars a year.
With his own record and marketing company, Gordy Enterprises, Kerry Gordy, formally of Motown, Warner Brothers, and Paisley Park Studios, intends to accomplish the same type of branding expeditions as other music industry entrepreneurs. Gordy will tap into the merging consumer market where music meets the fashion and beauty industries. Yet, he intends to do it with a different twist. Rather than becoming the front of an apparel line, Gordy has begun to manage fitness guru Debbie Siebers of Slim in 6 fame. Through his connections, Gordy has been able to set Siebers with her own apparel collection through the privately owned and operated Romar Studios, Inc. Siebers collections will touch wide consumer markets and will branch from online to retail stores.
Springing from industry royalty and experience, Kerry Gordy can bring deeply-rooted industry knowledge and a formidable connection force, continues the aforementioned source, the key is that when those who have made it in the industry understand the amazing opportunities that it offers. There was a time when artists, producers, and the like were owned by the giants of record companies and given crumbs of profit from their own work. Now, more industry people have knowledge of the finicky money tree behind and the branch out capabilities of the business.
Being involved with artist management can open multiple pathways for a business savvy individual due to its correlations with the deal structured nature of brand management. Managing a brand is much like managing an artist in that it is based on making a product into a recognizable name. As a brand manager and partner, Kerry Gordy holds a uniquely objective position. He has fiduciary, image, product and branding responsibilities. He is likely to be more accurate and honest about quality, direction and in promoting the line than others who are concerned solely about themselves and their own image.
Kerry Gordy has a natural, God-given feel for why and how to manage personalities. Its in his blood, continues the source, He is persistent, and he gets what he is after. When he believes in something or someone, he follows it through to success.

Net's First Spanglish Podcast Network Debuts
Today one of the Net's leading Latin music retailers, LatinoMusical, announced the initiation of its new worldwide promotion platform, which launched July 15, 2005.
(PRWEB) July 20, 2005 -- Today one of the Net's leading Latin music retailers, LatinoMusical announced initiation of its a new worldwide promotion platform, which launched July 15, 2005. The site hopes to provide latino solo artists, record labels and bilingual podcasters the opportunity to cash in on the value of the internet.
Aimed predominately at the independent and emerging latino music markets, LatinoMusical via its new site at www.myfmtv.net, billed as the Net's first Spanglish podcast network will provide a universal promotion platform. Artists and podcasters will have the ability to promote their music in both video and audio podcasts.
MyFMTV.NET will actively and aggresively promote the opportunity via its portfolio of sites,of which currently enjoy around 1/2 million visits per year combined and great exposure via Google, Yahoo, MSN, Dogpile and other great search engines. MyFMTV.net has announced that artists will
also have extra promotion via its association with Live365.com and it's own syndicated audio and video podcast network, which is featured on it's network of company sites and affiliates. Currently,MYFMTV.NET is BMI licensed and is working towards getting Snocap Licensed as well.
A number of differences set MYFMTV.NET apart from the other online legal distribution channels; primarily the ability to reach a world-wide audience, legally, with unsigned music and independent labels,in addition to offering un-heard of original podcast programming. This will initiate an expansion of all forms of alternative music and support smaller players within the latin music industry.
Unlike other leading brands,MYFMTV.NET will focuse on the niche market for latin music promotion rather than the major record companies that dominate our charts. MYFMTV.NET wants to hear from every latino
oriented band, independant music producer, artist and spanish podcaster looking for alternative distribution channels. Note,it is currently seeking bilingual podcasters and a spanglish dj host for it's planned music podcast.

Host Laney Goodman has been honing her unique mix for over 18 years as a radio host and producer, and half the artists she plays each week on Women In Music are independent or unsigned. But all the musicians she plays are accomplished and talented -- and rarely heard anywhere else on-air.
Women In Music has been at the leading edge of the music scene from the start; it was one of the first shows picked up by Audionet.com (later Broadcast.com, which was acquired by Yahoo) and broadcast to an international audience online. Now Women In Music is continuing the tradition of joining emerging technologies with emerging new artists, through podcasting each week's show.
Listeners can download the show at http://www.podgrrls.net to play on their computers or on their MP3 players, like the Apple iPod. Listeners can also subscribe to RSS feeds, which tell them about upcoming shows. Each week, a 15-minute preview MP3 of the upcoming show will be available to feed subscribers, and for the month of July, one-hour shows are available for download free of charge.
Starting in August, full-length shows of Women In Music will be available to subscribers for $1.50 each. This nominal fee helps offset hosting and production costs, and it helps Women In Music make cutting-edge indie music available to a worldwide audience, in an engaging mix as only Laney Goodman can create. 15-minute show previews will continue to be free of charge, and weekly updates will be available.
Listeners can contact the host at e-mail protected from spam bots for more information, or visit http://www.podgrrls.net to find out more about Women In Music with Laney Goodman.
