Nomad Entertainment announces the upcoming 2005 New York Music Seminar.

Response was so huge that Seminar had to be moved to Madison Square Garden

July 2005
Nomad Entertainment has announced this week that it will bring to Manhattan what promises to be one of the largest and diverse Music Industry Seminars to hit the city in almost a decade. Seminar lecture classes will be lead by such industry giants as Jenine Mclain (Alicia Keys Manager), Bridget Lindsey of Sanctuary Artist Management (The management company that represents artist such as: Beyonce, Destinys Child, Iron Maiden, Tommy Lee, Janes Addiction), Wallace Collins ( whos client list includes: Moby, Creed, Ozzy Osbourne, John Mayer, Maroon 5, Eddy Grant, Ani DiFranco), and Kayo Roberson (who has worked with: Usher, Babyface, Whitney Houston, TLC, Toni Braxton, Mariah Carey, Sheena Easton, The Deele, and Bobby Brown)...and these are just the names of a few of the industry leaders who will be heading seminar lecture classes. The Keynote Speaker is one that will blow the crowd away, said representatives of Nomad Entertainment. We will be releasing that name closer the seminar date.

The 2005 New York Music Seminar will be a two day event which will take place on September 10th -11th at Manhattans Madison Square Garden, and will feature not only the seminar lecture classes and opportunities to network with industry royalty, but it will also be host to up to 55 music industry themed vendors ( ranging anywhere from Music services to artist promotion and more).

The idea is to give anyone interested in the music industry as a career, a chance to rub elbows with people they would probably never get a chance to meet in the real world, as well as give those independent labels and artists an opportunity to promote, sell and market themselves and show what they have to offer, said Maurice Woodson, CEO of Nomad Entertainment.

According to Woodson, one of the true high points of the seminar will be the talent competition whereas the prizes will consist of Record Deals, Development Deals, Production Deals, Management Contracts and Cash. Those interested in becoming a part of the competition must first submit a demo tape, bio, and talent category card which will be screened by a group of judges who will narrow it down to about 150-300 artists or groups. This group of contestants will then be narrowed down to around 50 (with 5 alternatives). That 50 will then perform at the evening of the first day of the seminar, where thereafter they will be narrowed down to the 20 who will perform the second night of the seminar. It is at that final offering that the winners will be chosen and prizes will be received.

There will be celebrity performances prior to the competition each night, but the names of the celebrities as well as the guest judges will remain a secret for now according to Nomad Entertainment. More than 100 celebrities have also been invited to walk through.

ORIGINAL G-FUNK SUPERSTAR HONORED AS LONG BEACH MAYOR PROCLAIMS WARREN G WEEK AUGUST 1-6, 2005

RAPPER/PRODUCER DROPS NEW ALBUM IN THE MID-NITE HOUR
SEPTEMBER 27 ON HAWINO/LIGHTYEAR/WEA RECORDS
PRODUCED BY G-FUNK ENTERTAINMENT

LONG BEACH, CA July 28, 2005 Through years of continued excellence, Warren G has attained iconic status in the world of Hip-Hop. With a best-selling platinum and gold certified catalog boasting such classics songs as Regulate, This DJ and I Want It All Warren has brought his laaaiiiiidddddd back style of music to audiences around the world, but also a slice of life from his beloved hometown of Eastside Long Beach.

As if bringing global attention to the city weren't enough, Warren has also actively participated in the development of area and its residents in a variety of ways including the time he helped Lenscrafters, Shell Oil and City Councilmember Laura Richardson raise enough money to buy 500 pairs of eyeglasses for children to use for reading. Or the annual G Christmas shopping spree in a rented U-Haul where he drops his own cash on toys to give to kids at the California Recreation Center. Just last week the guy received an award from Project Coordinator Leonard Adams for time and money donated to the Midnight Basketball League, which operates as an alternative to the trouble that can be found outside on the streets.

Those efforts over the years are about to be officially recognized on August 1-6 when Long Beach Mayor Beverly O'Neall proclaims that time period Warren G Week. The seven days also coincide with the opening of Gs latest labor of love: the Willie McGinest Freedom School on August 1. Freedom School is a Summer enrichment program that was originated in the Civil Rights Era year 1964 in order to teach African-Americans to read and write so they could vote. It evolved into an educational improvement curriculum that stresses reading to help build a desire to learn that young people carry with them into the regular Fall school year.

The Willie McGinest Freedom School program will be the debut of this educational course in Long Beach. City native, Super Bowl Champion New England Patriot Linebacker McGinest, put up the seed money to start the school. A mutual childhood friend then introduced Warren to the Pastor O. Leon Wood, Jr., and thats how the weeks benefit concert came about to raise funds to continue this valuable enrichment program. (Robert Robinson, senior outreach coordinator for City of Long Beach, organized many of the weeks other activities.)

The City of Long Beach owes Warren G a great amount of love and gratitude for his continued demonstration of care and concern for our youth,? states Pastor Wood. He shows his love through the giving of his time and resources. He is always there when needed.

I'm not just proud of Warren as his manager I'm proud of Warren as his uncle, adds Wron G. He has stayed true to Long Beach and helped others to move to the next level in life. I thank the City of Long Beach for recognizing his humanitarian activities.

The full schedule of Warren G Week events include:

August 1, at 8:30 a.m.: Willie McGinest Freedom School will begin with a proclamation of Warren G Week from Mayor Beverly ONeall at the Sutter Academy, 5075 Daisy, in North Long Beach.
August 2: TBA

August 3, at 2:00-4:00 p.m.: Warren G will speak to Boy's and Girl's Club, Martin Luther King Park 1950 Lemon Ave, Long Beach

August 4, at 10 p.m.-12 a.m.: Coach and play in Midnight Basketball League at California Recreation Center. Game begins at 12 a.m. midnight.

August 5, from 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.: Warren G Day at the Queen Mary, Long Beach Harbor with tour of ship for Long Beach residents. Meet and Greet by Warren.

August 6, at 2:00 p.m.: Warren G concert for the kids of Long Beach on the lawn in front of Hughes Hanger at Queen Mary.

August 6, at 8:00 p.m.: Warren G performs a benefit concert also on the lawn in front of Hughes Hanger at the Queen Mary. He will give new, upcoming Long Beach acts the opportunity to open for him. Special friends will drop by. Proceeds go to the Willie McGinest Freedom School.

A few days after these celebrations, Warren will begin the promotion that will announce the September 27 release of his latest album, called IN THE MID-NITE HOUR on Hawino/Lightyear/WEA Records. Once again self-produced, the CD will feature that patented G-Funk grown a bit in songs like Get Ya Down and Make It Do What It Do

Finally, A Female Rapper that Has More to Say Than Just Talking About Her Physical Attributes...

Theres A New Type of Female Rapper in Town Meet Earths Angel, Kenyona, As She Looks to Take the Music Industry By StormGetting Crunked and Dealing with Real People issues on Her Soon to be Released Album.

Clayton, NJ (PRWEB) July 29, 2005 -- In just a short period of time, Kenyona, otherwise known as Earths Angel, has managed to create buzzes that not even the most known of lyricist/singers can createjust recently being entered into the chart listings of DJs across the Globe, who have found the female MC to be worth making their own personal top 30 industry musical charts. Blessed with an incredible lyrical flow, and an angelic voice, this twenty-something year old Queens, New Yorker, plans on being that new type of female MC in town, that does not only talk about shaking her tail, taking guys for cash, guns, drugs and crime, but things that adversely affect our society, as she does in her musical composition "Departure which addresses a mothers agonizing ambivalence associated with abortion.

With an album that is slated to be released in September, on Beatforce Recordings, entitled Razing Hell Til its Heaven, this young woman prefers her Timbalands to her Manolo Blanicks, and can prove that she can flow with the best of men, as she does just that on her first released song from her upcoming albumthe crunked out, straight derrty south diddy, "Back Up" which also shows a side of Kenyona, that lets you know that she is not to be taken lightly should she be pushed to the limit.

Every now and then there is the sudden emergence of a rising star, and that rising star, which is being guided by the Heavenly father, is Kenyonaa determined lyricist, a skilled singer, and a female MC that is comfortable in her own shoes - be it Timbalands or Manolo Blanicks, and knows her worth as an artist. Tek & Steele Return With Brand New LP, Smif N Wess: Reloaded, on 9-13-05

Bucktown, USA----There Reloaded!

Ever wonder who originally coined the phrase Bucktown, the slang which has since become synonymous in the Urban landscape to describe the concrete borough Thats right, Smif N Wessons Tek & Steele. Yet, there is so much more to Brooklyn, New York than meets the eye. Long considered a breeding ground for crime, corruption, and untamed youth, the borough's contributions to the world of music and culture have traditionally gone without notice--- but they are there. Just think hip hop, and the names will begin rushing into your consciousness: Special Ed, Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, M.O.P., DJ Premier, Mos Def, and of course, that army battalion-load of emcees known as the Boot Camp Clik.

Appearing under the name, Smif-N-Wessun, Tek and Steele's first-ever recorded experience dates back to fellow 'Bucktown' representatives and Boot Camp members, Black Moon's stellar LP, 1993's Enta Da Stage. Textured with the murky, dungeon-core production of Da Beatminerz, and crackling with the flavor of a reggae vocal long-forgotten, the collaboration would set the stage for the unique blend of sound clash street-speak which was to follow. And follow it did-- nearly 2 years later, when the fast-rising pair dropped their groundbreaking Dah Shinin' debut on Nervous Records. Acclaimed by both hip-hop and pop press alike, the record would feature an abundance of single-worthy cuts, including the now-classics, "Sound Bwoy Buriel", "Stand Strong", and "Bucktown." And the fans liked it too, copping enough copies during its opening week to ensure both a #1 slot on Billboard's Rap Album chart and #3 debut on its R&B measure-- impressive stats for a new artist release in any genre.

By the time Tek & Steele began recording their sophomore LP, Rude Awakening, Duck Down had a new recording home and distribution deal with Priority Records and was the talk of the underground scene. But just as things looked ready to take off, Tek & Steele were served a cease and desist order from gun manufacturer Smith And Wesson, which banned them from being able to record under their original recording moniker Smif N Wesson; hence, when Rude Awakening was finally released in 1998, Tek & Steele were forced to release the LP as Cocoa Brovaz---a road block which would have crippled most artists with lesser talent. Though Tek & Steele signed a deal with former Indy Powerhouse Rawkus Records in 2000, it was short lived, as Rawkus folded its doors shortly after Tek & Steele had finished recording their Rawkus debut. Yet, the duo remained busy, as they stayed active by contributing to Rawkus Soundbombing II (Get Up) and III (Spit Again) and appearing (Gun Talk) on Talib Kwelis 2002 release Quality.

Now back, and recording under their original moniker, Tek & Steeles Smif N Wess: Reloaded, is the final piece of Duck Downs re-emergence in 2005, as it brilliantly culminates Duck Downs Triple Threat (Sean Prices Monkey Barz & Buckshot & 9th Wonders Chemistry) summer. Ripe with Tek & Steeles smokey vocals, Reloaded brings the Boot Camp click full-circle and is aided by guest appearances from all of the Boot Camps core members, Talib Kweli, Dead Prez, Tony Touch and production from Da Beatminerz, Roc Raida, Coptic and young fast-rising producers Moss and the Justus Leagues Khrysis. The LPs lead-single, My Timbz Do Work? f/Heltah Skeltah will be impacting soon.

Tek and Steele, are more than just survivors of this diverse and musically prolific environment; they are survivors of an industry that values the fattening of pockets above all else. Despite an early career rooted in critical and commercial success, the duo's future would forever be altered by one key axiom: in the business of music, still don't nothing move but the money.

YOUNG REBELS / JOVENES REBELDES
A film by Ann Boden & Ryan Fleck
(US, 2005, 70 min. In Spanish with English subtitles)
When hip-hop takes to Havana, Cuban artists spirited beats and rhymes are
just as much a product of the troubled economy as of their insatiable
revolutionary spirit. The film intimately engages five hip-hop groups and
two producers as they negotiate the Havana summer. With Havanas 9th Annual
National Hip-Hop Festival approaching, invited performers prepare, battling
economic hardship, unsympathetic mothers, and the threat of government
censorship. Everyone must decide where they stand, from established groups
seeking institutional support to fledgling cooperatives establishing
alternative circuits, with allegiances ranging from commercial to feminist
vegan. With unheard of access to some of Cubas best musicians, this
documentary witnesses the future of Cuban hip-hop in the making. Official
selection New Directors/New Films 2005. A gowanus projection
(www.gowanus.net) release.

"Fascinating" - indieWIRE

"As young Cuban musicians with few hopes of commercial success embrace rap
music, they look at American hip-hop with a mixture of pride (in the purity
of their own political and social messages) and envy (at the wealth and fame
achieved by American rappers). This informative doc introduces us to a
number of these earnest young pop messengers, who barely have the resources
to make a CD... but have the wherewithal to organize a rap festival. - Stephen Holden, The New York Times

July 27, 2005
Award-winning Holy Hip-Hop Artist Nova 4 Jehovah has been added to the entertainment line-up planned for Reverend Jesse Jacksons Keep the Vote Alive! march and rally to be held on August 6 in Atlanta, GA. In an effort to pass the torch to the youth and young adults The Rainbow PUSH Coalition has brought Nova 4 Jehovah on board to appear with musical legends Stevie Wonder and Roberta Flack and gospel greats such as Dr. Bobby Jones to represent the Hip-Hop Generation. The day-long Keep the Vote Alive! march and rally will commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and will mark the beginning of Reverend Jesse Jacksons 2-year campaign to raise awareness and mobilize the nation around the need for legislation to extend key civil rights provisions in the Voting Rights Act of 1965 that are set to expire in 2007. In addition to the invited artists, local, state and national political, civil rights, human rights and labor leaders (including Ambassador Andrew Young, Congressman John Lewis, and Dr. Joseph Lowery along many others) will address the crowd that will come out to support the parade and rally. The days events are expected to attract several thousand people from metro Atlanta and across the nation. The Keep the Vote Alive! march will begin at the Richard B. Russell Federal Building, 75 Spring Street, in downtown Atlanta. The march will begin at 10:00 a.m. and proceed down Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive to Herndon Stadium on the historic Morris Brown College campus where the all-day rally will kick-off at 11:00 a.m.

It is truly an honor and a blessing, Nova 4 Jehovah said, to be included among the great men and women who have blazed trails and changed history that will be a part of the Keep the Vote Alive! march and rally. My being chosen to represent the hip-hop generation is a testament to the faithfulness of the God we serve. Nova 4 Jehovah, a 21-year old Atlanta native, was the 2004 Atlanta Gospel Choice Award Winner for Best Holy Hip-Hop Artist. Nova was also selected as 2005 Best New Holy Hip-Hop Artist at the Urban Gospel Music Industry Awards held on June 29 in Los Angeles, CA in conjunction with the Edwin Hawkins/Walter Hawkins Music & Arts Love Fellowship Conference. CHADLOVE (aka The PIMPTRONAUNT): One of the Most Talented, Up and Coming Italian-Jewish Rappers Around

(PRWEB) July 27, 2005 -- Born Chad Love Lieberman in Oceanside, New York, CHADLOVE is best known for his featured themed track Ziggatee-Jue Remember Ghetto-Caust Keep Swinging Drac-U-Love on his up and coming 2006 album.

Stacey Pollack interviewed CHADLOVE about his music and career to date and why he believes that there are not any other Italian-Jewish rappers in the market like him.

Tell us about when and where you first got into Rap.

I used to flow to the T.V. when Yo MTV raps was on and the T.V. would get static real fast on me, so I realized it must be something Im saying or Im just crazy, probably the second one, and then I couldnt really sing, Im not an American Idol, but I could be the next American Rapper since I have a good way of formulating my words together. I grew up at an upper-class high school, we played woman, drove fancy cars and rap music was the main thing Long Island kids do, so I just became involved with that. I was really into all types of music and rap wasnt always my favorite thing.

What is your feeling about other Italian-Jewish rappers who seem to rap for a gimmick?

There are not any other Italian-Jewish rappers. People tell me that all the time. To me, rap is the most real form of expression and form of art when it comes to music, so if youre not expressing yourself and your history through your success with music then youre really not representing who you are. To me you cant be an Italian-Jew aka Pizza Bagel rapper unless youre speaking on topics that you and your people have gone through. I know a lot of so-called rappers that dont even mention their history in their rap. To me theyre not reality rappers.

The difference between you and what some other rappers do is that youre much more real about it.

Yeah, because its a real thing. Reality is real, the world is real, and you cant just mock topics unless you have experienced them. Ive made songs that make grown men cry; Ive made Cantors cry with Ghetto-Caust. Ive also made 911 survivors cry with Remember and I have made people laugh with Ziggatee-Doo. I just do whats real and whats real to me, and what I feel the world needs to know, and what humanity in general needs to know as a whole. I am not an optimistic or pessimistic person, Im a real live emotional human being who says whats on his mind.

What sort of support have you had from your family with the music?

Funny you should say that! When I started they were not very supportive, they thought oh everyones trying to be a rapper, youll never make it, this and that, and then they saw these record companies offering me a few hundred thousand dollars trying to sign me, and my dad sat back and said, Wow Chad, you must be a commodity, youre a real act, and then they started getting back on my team, and weve been making moves together ever since. The record industry isnt something to play with either, its based on people who dont know anything or have anything, and then the deals they give out really arent deals. I know artists who have gold and platinum records who dont have any money. I could not sign to one of those major labels, I had to do it independently because they want to own everything. I make songs like Remember and Ghetto-Caust for my people and me and then they want to own it, its not fair.

Which of your peers would you like to collaborate with?

Actually, Im in a class of my own right now. I am not collaborating with any rappers at this time; I didnt get the name LOVE for just any reason. If you think you have talent, please send me a demo or an email and lets see if we can sit down and have dinner together. My eyes and ears are always open to new talent. Thats how I got my start and the tradition should be past on from generation to generation regardless of your skin color. Although, I would love to have the opportunity to record one day with the famous Slim Shady.

Do you have plans to pursue your music career over seas?

I plan to travel the world sharing my music with any audience that is interested in what Im doing. Im an equal opportunity employer and I dont judge on color or race. I do judge you on what you do as an individual in this short life span we all have. I dont care if youre a garbage man or a CEO of a big company. If your attitude is whacked dont share that negative energy with me. I dont have time for the drama.

Finally, tell us about Ghetto-Caust

Growing up in the USA when I was going to high school, everybody knew about the Holocaust, but you didnt really have to have a Jewish education. When I was searching for my identity, searching for my roots in my young-twenties, I reached out to my grandma who was 83, and just passed away a few years ago. She explained to me who survived the Holocaust and who didnt. My great uncle was shot and killed and his family was taken to the camps, and I just did as much research as possible to learn more about what exactly was going on. If you look at history this only happened about 60 years ago and weve been tracking history for thousands of years. It amazed me that mankind would let something like this happen. I did the research and I sat and cried several times when I wrote it. It took me many times to make it right. I wrote it for my people and me. People tell me its a fantastic song all the time and I say listen; its only the truth and never forget where the Ghetto originated. The Jewish people were the first Ghetto. You dont believe me, just Google it and see what pops up.

Chapter 13 Releases "Nevermore's Asylum" On Neblina Records

(Charlotte, NC, July 26, 2005) --- Rashid Hadee and Young Valentine of Chapter 13 have been waiting the sidelines patiently, dropping a 12" in 2004 and starring on all of Neblina's releases to date... but this August, they finally get a chance to shine on their own. After months of production & experimentation, Neblina is at last ready to reveal the group's long-awaited effort, "Nevermore's Asylum".

"Following in the footsteps of double threat pioneers such as The RZA, Diamond D and Havoc of Mobb Deep, Rashid Hadee and Young Valentine create beautiful music with aggressive rhymes that are thoughtful and refreshing," says Neblina co-founder Leo Jeffers.

Nevermore's Asylum features all-classic Chapter 13 production with the exception of one track by the enigmatic SP-1200 producer Gensu Dean and "Corner 2 Corner", produced by New Jersey's Analogic. "Songs like "All Day" and "Makin' It Right" showcase our classic production style," states Rashid, "but "Burnin'", "How We Sposed To Grow" and "Vacation" bring a totally new sound to the table. We like to be different… we take risks and basically do what we want to do."

From tagging grafitti on walls to waking up to the ice-cold "hawk" of the Windy City in his Hyundai Elantra, Rashid passionately recounts tales of life in Chicago while overcoming personal demons and obstacles. The talented producer has laced tracks for MCs such as Common Sense and Special Ed and has even shared production credits with fellow Chi-town native Kanye West on Abstract Mindstate's "Still Paying" album. His production credits include the gems "Watchin' My Moves", "Demonz" and "Do the Math" by Skinny Kenny.

Cocky, confident, and proud Gemini, Young Valentine was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, where he met Rashid at a local high school. Valentine brings a very unique sound to Chapter 13; his production style is a mix of East Coast underground with a noted dirty-south influence. "My music is straight from the heart," proclaims Valentine, "I'm from the south but grew up listening to all kinds of hip-hop, and those influences are clear in my music." Valentine is best known for his production on the 12" vinyl classic, "The Rebirth".

Young V and Rashid work together with a yin and yang duality to create dynamic depictions of pavement pain mixed with well-mastered lyrical prowess. "Nevermore's Asylum" is a culmination of real mc skills and breathtaking production that breaks the current hip-hop mold, taking the listener deep inside the complex world of Chapter 13.

West Coast Rap Artist Lofty To Drop Debut Hip-Hop CD

West coast rap artist Lofty is set to release his debut album In The Beginning on August 23, 2005. Hailing from Vallejo, California, the talented rap artist Lofty has realized he is seasoned and dedicated enough to become an artist in his own right.

Miles High Productions Press Release -- (ArriveNet - Jul 26, 2005) --West coast rap artist Lofty is set to release his debut album In The Beginning on August 23, 2005. Hailing from Vallejo, California, the talented rap artist Lofty has realized he is seasoned and dedicated enough to become an artist in his own right.

Having an extraordinary group of friends since his high school days, rap artist Loftys inner circle is packed with hip-hop and rap artists who have made their mark in the industry. This impressive inner circle includes the likes of N2Deeps Jay Tee, whose Back To The Hotel album and single both went gold. Another gold hip-hop artist Baby Bash. who broke through in 2003 with the smash single Suga Suga, also came from the same inner circle.

Lofty grew up in a number of dramatically different California cities, but Vallejo, California was his old school stomping ground. I dont come from one particular place,

As Lofty became enamored with the music of such hip-hop icons as Eric B. & Rakim, Ice Cube, E-40, Too $hort, Public Enemy and Special Ed, Lofty reconnected during a move back to the Bay Area with elementary school friend Jay Tee, who was part of rap group N2Deep. Soon thereafter, N2Deeps Back To The Hotel single became a smash hit. Jay Tee took Lofty on tour with him, letting his childhood friend be his hype man. The Back To The Hotel album reached No. 1 on Billboards Heatseekers Chart and afforded Lofty the opportunity to travel and record extensively with N2Deep. Im touring with Jay Tee, seeing part of the lifestyle, meeting everybody, going to studios and Im thinking, I can do this,

Lofty says. Ive been around the roughest of the rough people, to people with tremendous bling. My life has been really mixed and thats how my music is. I want to be able to touch everybody I know that the best way to reach people is to bring them into my world., and that is exactly what he does on his debut album.

Lofty says. When you listen to the album, youre going to get a whole bunch of different stuff, Lofty says, especially with the first radio single The One For Me, which features Jay Tee.

In The Beginning shows that indeed Lofty is more than good enough to make a go on his own, the debut album is a proclamation that Lofty has finally taken his rightful place among his hip-hop peers.

On the revealing In The Beginning, for example, Lofty and his brother Neen retrace their evolution as occasional rappers to full-fledged rhymers over a thumping, keyboard driven beat from Versatile. I felt like I was good enough to rap with other people, but I basically never got around to it, Lofty recalls. I didnt have the stability back then to do that kind of thing. I had to work and do those other things that life calls for first. Fortunately for Lofty, the homies gave him a lot of support.

Lofty also says his wife is his strongest ally. He dedicates the touching song from his album Ride With Me, which features impassioned vocals from seasoned veterans Levitti (E-40, Messy Marv, B-Legit), to his wife. My wife inspires me and supports me, he says. I think about how close we are and how close I feel to her is how those lyrics come out. Im not trying to scream to all the girls out there in the game. Im trying to have other cats relate to what Im trying to say to their girlfriends or whoever theyre trying to talk to.

Lofty then addresses women in general on Count On Me, a smooth, guitar-driven track produced by K-Lou, an established Bay Area beat smith who has worked with such hip-hop and rap gold and platinum artists as Baby Bash, Master P, E-40, C-Murder and B-Legit.

Lofty obviously places a big emphasis on family. With the moving My Brothers Keeper, Lofty and his brother rap about how they always look out for one another. Growing up in various California cities, Lofty had to rely on brother and sister as they were shuffled around to different schools and neighborhoods from the Bay Area to San Diego.

Along with Lofty on his debut album are a few great features including Gemini, Celly Cel, Neen Boogie, and Levitte.

Loftys debut album In The Beginning will be released on August 23, 2005. This will be out nationally and distributed by Bayside and on Cat Man Records

Watch for it and experience for yourself this remarkable west coast talent.

Rap Artist Yuns to Release Hip-Hop Debut Album Aug. 23rd

Yuns has just been signed to 33rd Street Records, the California-based label (home to superstars such as En Vogue, Outlaws and Peter Frampton) that will release Storyteller on August 23rd.

Miles High Productions Press Release -- (ArriveNet - Jul 26, 2005) - Best known for the grunge bands that put the Pacific Northwest on MTV in the early '90s, the Emerald City is about to be receive another jolt of electricity - this time from a rap artist.

In the midst of a hip-hop era cluttered by Southern crunk hits and surrounded by the West Coast gangster rap sound, there has arisen something new.
Something Different

His name is Yuns, and his smoothly rhythmic delivery and articulate lyrics represent the new cutting edge in hip-hop. Refusing to follow any trends, Yuns slices his own path, telling personal stories and social observations in an honest yet positive manner.

Featuring real instrumentation and hook-laden songs with emotional depth, Storyteller is the debut album from a young man with a passion for rap and an even stronger love for life. The gloom and doom of the past has been ripped away; the curtains are torn open, letting the sunlit rays of optimism and good vibrations beam through. It's no surprise, then, that industry professionals have dubbed him "the Dave Matthews of hip-hop."

Yuns has just been signed to 33rd Street Records, the California-based label (home to superstars such as En Vogue, Outlaws and Peter Frampton) that will release Storyteller on August 23rd. It is the next logical step for Yuns, who has been receiving massive regional acclaim for his talents. In 2001, Yuns destroyed the competition at the Northwest Hip-Hop Talent Contest, wowing the crowd with his infectious energy; a year later, he topped the awards at the Urban Music Association's Northwest Music Conference. His songs have blasted through the airwaves of major commercial radio stations such as KUBE 93.3 in Seattle and 100.3 The Beat in Los Angeles, burning request lines with the intensity of a supernova. If that wasn't enough, Yuns also signed a digital download agreement with http://www.ingrooves.com , perhaps best known for their clients hip-hop and raps Mos Def and Nappy Roots, becoming the first Northwest indie artist to have his own ring tone. Don't miss Yuns' video for "Hands Up" as well as his commercials on BET and MTV.

Storyteller releases on August 23rd.

Lil Rob's "Twelve Eighteen"

Lil Rob's First Single, "Summer Nights" From His Upcoming Release Continues to Heat up the Airwaves Going Top 10 in the Nation on Billboard Monitor's Radio Chart Reaching Over 33 Million in Audience

NEW YORK, NY -- (Market Wire - Jul 26, 2005) - San Diego native Lil Rob is releasing "Twelve Eighteen" July 26th on Upstairs Records. "Summer Nights," the album's first single, is exploding at radio and has succeeded in making Upstairs Records the second only independent label in over a decade to enter Rhythmic Top 40's Top 10.

Splitting time between producers Fingaz (from Corona, California) and Moox (from Austin, Texas), Rob cut 26 tracks, then selected the12 best for "Twelve Eighteen." A few of the unique new beats brought the freak out in Lil Rob. "I've got some nasty songs on this album," he says grinning slyly, referring to "Playground" and "Bring Out The Freak in You" -- "some music for the strip clubs!" Another standout of the new songs is "Rough Neighborhood," a sequel to his earlier hit "Brought Up in a Small Neighborhood." For this one, Rob samples "Mannish Boy," the Muddy Waters classic as covered by The Newcomers. "I rapped over some blues," he says with pride! "Some rappers stay in one style. I rap over any music that I like, which usually makes for a different type of song. On 'Rough Neighborhood,' I talk about seeing the druggies on the way to school and my gang bang days... but with a message at the end. It's about doing stupid things as a kid, being older now and reminiscing."

Lil Rob was born and raised in the La Colonia, a section of Eden Gardens in the North County of San Diego. He dropped his first street single, "Mexican Gangster," in 1992 and has since released 5 albums independently, managing to sell over 400,000 units combined. Although he faced much adversity in the beginning of his career because he is Mexican he made a conscious decision to not let negativity break him but make him stronger. He has since written about some of those early experiences in songs and has put a positive spin on it by not letting them break his backbone or spirit. Rob states, "I'm proud to be Mexican -- a Chicano -- and of where I'm from. Some styles of my music may be new, but that doesn't change who I am."

Get ready to have Lil Rob's summer classic "Summer Nights" imbedded in your brain. It has just begun to invade your airwaves and if Rob has it his way he will make sure the album rides you into his world of easy-flowing rhymes about cruisin', lovin', partyin' and survivin'.

Young Jeezy New Album "Let's Get It"

Some of the Young Jeezy album played in Atlanta and receives great responses.

(PRWEB) July 26, 2005 -- Young Jeezy is going to blaze the charts with his album Lets Get It. I happened to be in Club 112 with Frank Ski when they were playing some Boyz N Da Hood songs and some of the hot new songs from Jeezys new debut album Lets Get It. You should have seen the crowd get crunk. They were going crazy!

With titles such as Talk to my, Do the Damn Thang, Lean back free-style, Get Em Jeezy, & Rain just to name a few the streets will be talking. I actually watched females Shake it Fast while the vocals from Young Jeezy flowed across hardcore drums and melodies. What a sight!

Many music heads know that in the South rappers T.I. and Ludacris run things on a commercial level but after several years of Mixtapes and hustlin Jeezy has made his presence known. Not only has Def Jam signed him but also he brings his street credibility with him. Both T.I. and Jeezy appear on a song called "Bang" which will represent the streets and give the commercial blocks a Hip Hop rush.

Known as a Dirty South mixtape phenomenon with guest appearances on monster mashes like Gucci Mane's "Icy" Young Jeezy is now a Southern power house. You are going to be blasted with 19 cutz from this new album.

Its one thing to see a rapper kill the streets with mixtapes like 50 cent did years ago and create success. However, its a totally different story when you make a transition from the streets to the mainstream and you are still accepted by both thugs representing the underground circuit and mainstream representing places such as MTV, BET or VH1.

Young Jeezy is here to stay and the Dirty South loves him!

BET, Black AIDS Institute, Kaiser Family Foundation and YWCA Announce Finalists of 2nd Annual Rap-It-Up/Black AIDS Short Subject Film Competition

WASHINGTON, July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Culminating an extensive national call for submissions, BET, the Black AIDS Institute (The Institute), the Kaiser Family Foundation, and the YWCA are proud to announce the finalists in the 2nd Annual Rap-It-Up/Black AIDS Short Subject Film Competition (RIU/BASS). Ten finalists are now eligible for the next level of competition from which the winning entry will be selected.

The RIU/BASS film competition seeks to highlight the issue of HIV prevention, testing, treatment and the effect of HIV/AIDS on individuals and families in the African-American, Afro-Caribbean, and/or Afro-Latin communities in the United States. In particular, the competition helps to raise awareness about the magnitude of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Black communities; encourages the public to know their status; and seeks to inspire people to take action to stop the spread of the disease. Screenwriters were encouraged to use their creativity to evoke a 'fresh' and culturally unique angle on these issues in a way that will resonate with African Americans.

Numerous entries were received and reviewed by a select group of judges from across the country. The finalists are: Drew Anderson, Justin Follin, Charneice Fox and Michelle Sewell (Washington, DC), Multitude of Mercies; Michelle Lynne Coons (California), Let's Talk; Marquita Edwards (Illinois), Chances; Marcus F. Eubanks & Brandon Joseph (Arkansas), Conscious Cafe; Andrea Greer & Simone Murray (New York), Once; Charmain Johnson (Florida), Victims; Joie Lee (New York), Positive; Gregory Roberts (Illinois), The Edge Of The Looking Glass; Yasin Shabazz (Georgia), The Release Of Jackie Davis; and Lanette Ware-Bushfield (New York), Gisele and Me.

"Given recent data released by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), it is clear that AIDS has reached a level that we can no longer ignore," commented Phill Wilson, Executive Director of the Black AIDS Institute. "The RIU/BASS film competition is another attempt to sound the alarm and mobilize the troops in an effort to finally put an end to this tragedy."

"BET is extremely proud of both the success and impact the RIU/BASS film competition has had in depicting the extent of HIV/AIDS within the African- American community," said Kelli Lawson, BET's Executive Vice President of Corporate Marketing. "We look forward to continuing to promote HIV/AIDS awareness while also extending the unique opportunity for talented filmmakers to showcase their amazing work."

"The impressive mix of powerful stories illustrates the magnitude and depth of the impact HIV/AIDS is having on African Americans throughout the U.S.," said Tina Hoff, Vice President and Director of Entertainment Media Partnerships at the Kaiser Family Foundation.

"HIV/AIDS clearly creates yet another hurdle for African-American women in their struggle to improve the socioeconomic outlook for themselves and their families," said Debra Roth, Director of Communication and Marketing for the YWCA USA. "As the YWCA USA works to eliminate racism and empower women, we are very conscious of any influence that stands between these women and their full potential. We hope that our sponsorship of this film contest raises awareness, detection and treatment of this disease."

The winner will be announced on August 8, 2005, and the winning film will televise on the BET network around World AIDS Day (December 1, 2005). This year's RIU/BASS film competition follows a successful first year of notable awards and accolades for its two winning films, "Walking on Sunshine" and "Tangy's Song!", including the 2005 Cable Positive Award for Outstanding Film/Movie and a 2005 NAACP Image Award nomination for "Walking on Sunshine"; and a Bronze Telly Award for "Tangy's Song!".

HIV/AIDS continues to devastate Black communities across the globe. It is a leading cause of death for African Americans between the ages of 25 and 44 and is the top cause of death for African-American women between the ages of 25 - 34. Although African Americans represent only 13% of the U.S. population, they accounted for approximately half (49%) of AIDS diagnosis in 2003.
