No matter what the time is, a revolutionary is only as powerful as his love for change. With Milwaukee leading the nation in some the worst statistics that effect the black & latino population, resident advocate Fidel is set become one of the most exciting merchants of medicine music to emerge in years. Having over 10 years of understanding as a founding member of the underground group Taste Emcees and the Midwest strong-arm marketing machine Gorilla Promotions International, Fidels ambition and community involvement has quickly made supporters out of many everyday people. Now the world will get to join the movement to reclaim Hip Hop & utilize its phenomenal influence to educate and uplift our youth. The GP Innertainment Group debut, VIVA FIDEL! drops Jan. 2006
Im a messenger, Im not here to promote destruction and death of black people. Im out to overthrow the actor rappers, and the blood-suckin labels that are literally using what Kool Herc and Afrika Bam & nem started to destroy our youth. This mix cd is for all the people who realize the power of our voices and who love that rebel music.
Songs like the instructive Get What U Give show Fidel speaking like a General to his troops calmly explaining his motivations and observations on the battlefield. My songs come from conversations and everyday interactions with the people. Setting the backdrop for his reality is DJ Stretch of the Record Breakers, blending and scratching throughout the Mix CD. Producers include Milwaukee natives Phat Brain, Mario Webb, and even a timeless, self produced Rezurekshun which is a brilliant non-stop build up of one-liners circa 1998 hittin licks for kids that concentrate/fuck catchin a case. Guest appearances include label mates Taste Emcees, 10yr. old Boyman and 1D.
