Reynolds Family Homes is the "Hip Hop" Builder
COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 30, 2005--Reynolds Family Homes (http://www.reynoldsfamilyhomes.com) announced two tentative new styles to their home collection, which currently consists of two styles being built by TK Constructors, Inc. (http://www.tkconstructors.com). In a naming scheme to directly relate to what it believes its primary consumers will be, Reynolds Family Homes gave them names to appeal to its young urban consumer base.
"In full recognition of the affordable housing statistics and our efforts to increase young minority home ownership, we have given our names a little Bling Bling," Tony Reynolds, Founder of Reynolds Family Homes said. On December 19th, President Bush said he wanted minority home ownership to rise, and not just in relation to Hurricane Katrina. Reynolds signed an agreement with Window Rock (OTC:WRKC) to finance the development and management.
According to the latest Census data, African Americans in the Columbus market make up a 26% population share. Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) sponsored analysis found a deficit of 22,000 affordable housing units.
"TK had asked us to name one of the models they had discussed building with us," Reynolds said. "I offered T-Squared, or Tony2 named after my oldest son. I don't think they liked the unconventional name I offered," Reynolds said. "Who remembers the name of their house build? My informal survey of my neighbors proved it doesn't really matter to most people," he said. "I mean we don't have a Fitch Rating to be concerned."
Reynolds then decided that his target market might appreciate the naming convention of the homes and it wouldn't really hurt to tinker with it. So he asked his son Anthony Jr to name the tentative third model. He said, "The Platinum Grillz Dad," Reynolds recalled. The house features a prominent attached front garage. "It made sense!" Reynolds said.
Reynolds Family Homes also has names that are more traditional, such as the "Executive Decision" for a 3000 + sq ft two story with a brick facade. All models are also known by their traditional names at TK.
The following Affordable home models are:
-- The PattyLou - 1100 sq ft ranch model
-- T-Squared (T2) - 1400 Sq ft two-story
-- Platinum Grillz - 1600 Sq Ft two-story
-- El Caliente' - 1200 sq ft ranch
