Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) February 21, 2006 -- If you grew up a fan of such artists like Eric B. & Rakim, A tribe called Quest, Black Sheep, Public Enemy, Gangstarr, and Nas...then WORDSMITH is your fix. His unreleased debut albums, Classic Material and Rockstrumentals, will be dropping on the same day in two separate genres of music when a record label situation is secured. The Hip-Hop album, Classic Material, is somewhat of a throwback to the golden era of hip-hip (92-96) with its lyrical nature (Rakim), its revolutionary sound (Public Enemy), and storytelling roots (Slick Rick). The rock side of the album, Rockstrumentals, is a new age experiment between Rock and Hip-hop. Run-DMC may have done walk this way in the late 90's with Aerosmith, but this album takes a real MC and puts his lyrics to hardcore rock beats. Currently, Wordsmith is releasing his official mix album, Statements & Stipulations sponsored by DJ 730 from HipHopgame.com.
Statements & Stipulations is considered a mixtape; mix album and studio album all rolled into one. Building off of Wordsmiths love for storytelling and old school cartoons, he put himself in the shoes of a rap super hero called Wordsmith tha Great. Through 4 episodes on the mix album; he has the task of saving the rap game from 3 MCs poisoning Hip-Hop with the Pop Rap of today. Word battles the likes of MC Arsonist, who is responsible for burning all the greatest old school records ever created, MC Ginsui, who is the master of off-beat flows/rhymes that make no sense and have no concepts, and MC Wisdom, who has ties to Wordsmith and is the mastermind behind replacing the essence of Hip-Hop with Pop Rap.
18 original tracks deep, this project is very experimental by the variety of tracks touching the east coast/party heads (Ode to tha Pioneers & Pleasure Palace), west coast lifestyle (Hydrolic Theory), and down south crunk (Countdown). It is not in Wordsmiths repertoire to do some of the tracks on this mix album, but the opportunity to touch the many places hes lived was a welcomed challenge. Noticeable, Wordsmith is using this mix album as a platform to show the industry that he can create mainstream bangers along with potent album tracks. Continuing with the title of the mix album, Word also chose the title, Statements & Stipulations, as a means to make statements and place certain stipulations on the game with each and every track. Stocked with 3 to 4 legit singles, Wordsmith would like to set a new bar for DJs and MCs dropping mixtape projects in the future. Moreover, Words love for classical beats and 90s era hip-hop are not prevalent on this project, but his diversity and capability to do music that define a certain culture are in the forefront.
