The Motion Picture Group, Inc. Appoints Award Winning Management Team
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 2006--The Motion Picture Group, Inc. (Pink Sheets: MPRG), a film and entertainment financing and production company, announced today the appointment of its executive management team: Henri Kessler as Chairman and President, Pliny Porter as Chief Executive Officer, and Scott Franklin as Executive Vice President.
Collectively, the newly-appointed management team has produced and/or developed over 25 titles that have earned combined global revenue exceeding $1 billion. In addition, the team has won such prestigious awards as the Sundance Grand Jury Prize, Cannes Camera d'Or, IFP Gotham Award, Open Palm Award, and the IFP Independent Spirit Award. They also received nominations for the IFP Independent Spirit Award, Academy Award for Best Foreign Film, Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, and Golden Globe Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama.
Mr. Kessler began his film career as an actor in film and television and progressed to an Executive Producer with a long list of credits. Mr. Porter's almost twenty year career in both independent projects and big budget studio pictures has given him significant expertise in development and production. As one of the premier hip-hop and R&B music video producers in the United States, Mr. Franklin has longstanding working relationships with almost every major record label including Universal Records, Sony Music, Atlantics Records, Bad Boy Records, and Island Def Jam.
President Henri Kessler said: "We are a well-rounded team with extensive experience covering everything from physical production to creative development and film finance. With that balance we intend to create a slate of 15 feature-length motion pictures in the $1 to $20 million range with bankable talent attachments and the flexibility to produce larger budget films with certain studios."
