Soul Rebel Releases Debut Compilation and Rocks DC - Next Stop New York City

Silver Spring , MD Monday, March 6, 2006 February 23, 2006 marked the release of the highly anticipated debut album "The Soulful Rebellion", a compilation disc that features local talent Soul Rebel. The album also includes music from other well-known artists such as Dwele, Kanye West, and Little Brother, just to name a few.

For only $5.00, this 21 track compilation can be purchased at any of their upcoming performances, which are highlighted on their website soulrebelmedia.com. The album is also available for purchase through the website ($7.99, which includes shipping and handling, and $5.00 for the download). The hit single, "Sincerely Yours", has already received multiple spins on MD/DC radio station WKYS 93.9 FM and has caught the eye of music insiders at Russell Simmons Music Group and Warner Music Group. The song was also recently licensed for the soundtrack and score of an upcoming movie starring Clifton Powell, Lisa Raye, and Vanessa L. Williams. Following the success of "Sincerely Yours", Mic Sean and Severe of Soul Rebel were recently tapped to score the independent play 'Samurai' which will tackle the issue of homophobia in Hip-Hop.

At their CD Release Performance, Soul Rebel supported by Ab and The Souljourners(absgreatmusic.com) performed music from the album as well as new music. The event which took place at Busboys and Poets in Washington, DC on Thursday February 23, 2006 received an overwhelming response, garnering hundreds of RSVP's to attend the performance. In response to the show having been full to capacity, co-founder of Soul Rebel, Michael Spence, humbly stated "Hopefully this is just the beginning. We've worked hard to get to this point, and to be received so well is a blessing. Now we're just looking forward to big things to come." They have had an opportunity to practice, putting on a successful listening party at The University of Maryland at College Park prior to the show.

In the upcoming weeks Soul Rebel is poised to take their dynamic stage performance on the road, hitting Chocolate Monkey (329 Flatbush Ave., Brooklyn, NY) on Saturday, March 11, 2006 and The Apache Caf (64 3rd St., NW, Atlanta, GA) on Saturday, March 18, 2006.
