Meet one of the music industry's hottest rising stars, ToshaMakia. She
stars on the cover of the latest mix CD from DJ Korrupts' latest Mix CD
"Greatest Hits!" ToshaMakia is an R&B songstress originally from
Bridgeport, Connecticut. She has managed to stay focused and use her
sparkling personality and unique voice to simultaneously make a name
for herself on the Connecticut music scene and land a job as an on-air
personality on WPHI 100.3 The Beat in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with
her own show "ToshaMakia & Da Stripper".

According to ToshaMakia "After the release of my first single the radio
station in Hartford (Connecticut) realized how much love I was getting
from the people so they offered me an opportunity to become an on-air
personality. I jumped at that chance and held down a part time
position at the station while continuing to work on my music." While
grinding in the studio and doing her thing on the air waves she did a
photo shoot for the Source magazine in July 2005. "After being
featured in the Source the call came in from Philly. They (WPHI)
offered me my own show and before we could finish the conversation I
was at the station with my bags."

As an artist ToshaMakia has made many television appearances, she
toured with Angie Martinez (another famous radio personality) and
performed on BET's 106 & Park, The Carson Daly Show and the WB Morning
Show. She has also performed alongside hip hop legends, LL Cool J,
Nas, Busta Rhymes, Lil Kim and Ashanti. Her debut single, "Be
Yourself" became the first independent record to ever get added to
regular rotation at Connecticut's leading urban station, getting air
play at as many as 60 stations in 35 markets.

In a long list of recent achievements, ToshaMakia was featured in the
New York Post Tempo section as One of the 50 Sexiest Singles in New
York City. She is also still in the studio recording her debut album
and getting ready to appear in some clothing campaigns. ToshaMakia has
her priorities in order, she says, "Independent artist don't have it
easy. What I really want is a record deal and a radio spot in New York
but ultimately I want for Connecticut to say, that's our girl."
ToshaMakia is showing no signs of slowing down and without a doubt 2006
is going to be her year.
