World Wide Flava and Bo2 Productions to host the 2006 Southeast Music Community Festival, March 11th
Charlotte, NC - Feb. 28, 2006 Charlotte, NC WorldWide Flava Television and Bo2 Productions will host the 1st Annual Southeastern Music Community Fest in Charlotte, North Carolina on March 11, 2006. The conference will award proceeds to a New Orleans family now residing in Charlotte that was affected by Hurricane Katrina.
The Southeastern Music Community Fest is a one- day entertainment conference that focuses its efforts to educate, empower, and elevate awareness to aspiring entertainers / artist on "How to Make It Happen in the Entertainment Industry" and a Music Appreciation segment for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Charlotte. Registrants will have an opportunity to interact with the panelists and other music professionals from all aspects of the entertainment industry. The conference will honor the Mayor Pro Tem Patrick Cannon for his contributions to the Charlotte community and tenure as a City Councilmen. In addition, Mayor Pro Tem will present Anthony Hamilton with the SMCF Achievement of the Year Award and Brentson Buckner(Carolina Panthers) with the SMCF Industry Trendsetter of the Year Award. SMCF will also award DJ Toomp with the 2006 SMCF Legendary Achievement Award.
2006 Industry Trendsetter award to honor Brentson Buckner of the Carolina Panthers
Brentson Buckner is the Team Captain of the Carolina Panthers. Through much discipline, hard work, great work ethic and prayer Brentson has been afforded the opportunity to play actively in the NFL for twelve seasons. Not only is Brentsons voice heard across the radio but his face is seen around the world on NFL Networks Total Access. Brentson analyzes football plays, players, and teams. This venture has taken him as far as London, England where he served as an American Analyst of Super Bowl XXXIX. ESPN has utilized his skills as an articulate spokesman for ESPN show, COLD PIZZA. Brentson has also made an appearances on ESPN Budweisers Hot Seat. Considering life after football, Brentson has already began expanding his entrepreneur career. He is part owner of the up and coming premier Shie Salon and Spa that will cater to the needs of African American Women and Men at a level that is unheard of in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Brentsons NFL career is one of great accomplishments on and off the field which have aided in his maturation as a role model for youth and young men in the communities in which he embraces. Brentson has participated in programs with the March of Dimes based out of Columbus, Georgia and the Charlotte area where he has been a significant supporter of the programs. Throughout his career Brentson has been a keynote speaker to companies such as Wachovia, many schools, The Panthers organization events, and churches. Brentson is an active participator of the Read Across America Program, the NFL Take A Player to School Program and the NFL Make A Wish Program.
Brentson also reached out to families that have been affected by Hurricane Katrina. Every Christmas Brentson adopts a child with a local orphanage in Charlotte. As a veteran on the team Brentson mentors many of the younger men who come into the NFL. Some of Brentsons off the field achievements include being the official spokesman for RAIN, Regional Aids Interfaith Network, based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Brentson is also a member of the No Limit Larry Morning Madhouse Radio show on POWER 98 WPEG, which is the #1 urban morning show in the Carolinas.
Brentson is also CEO of B2 Inc. which will include a Music Studio, CD pressing company, and music promotion. Buckner is also part-owner of the famed Patchwerk studio in Atlanta, GA.
With all these accolades Brentson still finds time to share with his family and friends. His motto is to put God first and everything else will fall in place.
The Southeast Music Community Fest will honor Buckner with the 2006 Industry Trendsetter of the Year award for his contributions to the community and the entertainment industry.
