Trina Brings the "Live and Uncut" to DVD

Own a piece of "THE GLAMOUREST LIFE."

New York, NY (PRWEB) March 3, 2006 -- Not everybody can be as glamorous as the sexy 5'3' rapstress known as Trina, but her new DVD promises to give us some pointers. The DVD, which is called , Trina Live and Uncut, shows Trina is finally ready to give the world a peak into what it's like to be the one and only diamond princess.

The DVD, being released by 845 Entertainment and distributed by SMC Recordings/ Fontana Universal, features a live show where she performs some of her biggest hits like "Here We Go" and "Baddest Bitch." Fans of the artist will delight in the up close and personal look at the star as she tours the country. Also included on the DVD is a one hour behind the scenes documentary titled Sex, Money, and Jewels, featuring da baddest bitch in action - recording at the studio, shooting videos and even giving lap dances on stage. Speaking on Trina, Jarred Weisfeld, co-CEO of 845 Entertainment says "Doing a Trina DVD was a no brainer everyone knows that Trina is both a sexy and dynamic figure in the Hip Hop world. Guys want to date her and girls want to be her. She has mass appeal and this is definitely groundbreaking material. Sex sells".

Trina debuted in 1998 on Slip-N-Slide labelmate Trick Daddy's 'Nann,' and quickly became a household name in hip-hop. GLAMOUREST LIFE differs from her previous offerings, DA BADDEST BITCH (2000) and DIAMOND PRINCESS (2002) in that it showcases a more mature Trina - not just a seductress, but also an artist.

As one of the hardest working women in show business, Trina says "I'm a chick in the game who is working, and people respect that. Yes, it has a lot to do with the whole sex appeal, but it's a mixture of that image and me as a person. It's my whole strong attitude."

With Trina the excitement never ends and the Live And Uncut DVD is no exception. Trina is hotter than ever - let her show you how to live the life.

The Hip Hop Gaming League (HHGL) Announces Inaugural Season Lineup of A-List Music and Pro Sports Competitors

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the Global Gaming League (www.GGL.com), experts in online competitive video game tournaments, and Snoop Dogg jointly announced the formation of the Hip Hop Gaming League (www. HHGL.com). Snoop will serve as the league's first commissioner ensuring that all matches played online via Xbox Live for the Xbox 360(TM) are electrifying but fair.

The inaugural season player lineup includes stars such as Proof (D12), Paul Wall, Just Blaze, Krazyie Bone of Grammy winners Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony, MLS soccer star Cobi Jones, Murs, Kaine (Ying Yang Twins), NBA Star Jalen Rose, Twista, Fredwreck, BReal of Cypress Hill, Eric V. of the Baka Boyz, and Wutang Clan founder Method Man. Players were selected based on their reputations for top video game skills, as well as for their prominence in the hip hop community.

The inaugural season kicked off with three major events: Snoop's Press Conference, Snoop's Player Draft announcement, and the HHGL Launch Party at the NBA All Star Game in Houston. Extensive video footage from each of these events is available exclusively online at HHGL.com.

League matches begin online starting in March 2006 and conclude in May with a live Finals event in Las Vegas presided over by Snoop himself. At the finals event, the first ever HHGL World Champion will be crowned and awarded eternal bragging rights. Also, a substantial donation will be made to the Snoop Youth Football League on the champion's behalf.

"I'm an initiator, and this new intersection of hip hop and video gaming is something that's ready to happen," said Commissioner Snoop. "Hip hop loves video gaming, and I've been watching this develop into the next big sport. The HHGL is my way of taking it to the next level. We're going to take this thing straight over the stratosphere, and the whole world can watch and participate as people like myself -- who hate to lose -- put it on the line."

All HHGL players will have custom Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system's professionally installed in the location of their choice (crib, tour bus, favorite club, etc), and all competition will take place over the Xbox Live(R) network. Xbox 360 and Xbox Live are the official console and online gaming sponsor of the HHGL inaugural season, joining platinum sponsor Sprite in promoting the league and making exclusive content available to its customers.

All HHGL matches will be officially sanctioned by the GGL meaning that they are guaranteed to have no lag and to be completely fair. The video games selected for the inaugural season were still being reviewed by Commissioner Snoop and the GGL at press time with an announcement expected shortly. It is projected that Xbox 360 sports games will figure prominently in League play.

"There will be no place to hide," said GGL Chairman Ted Owen. "Both the online and live play will be real matches played under pro competition quality conditions. Commissioner Snoop and GGL's expert pro gamers, tournament organizers, and match broadcasters will all assure that this thing is very real," said Owen. "These stars love to compete, but they are rarely in the same place at the same time. So, GGL's ability to organize them online through the Xbox Live network allows them to pursue their gaming passion wherever they may be. This is how the world will play as this exciting broadband-driven competition rapidly moves forward."

Filming of New Orleans Music in Exile began two months after the muddy waters, roiled by Katrina, drenched homes and neighborhoods like the Lower Ninth Ward, St. Bernard Parish, Treme' and Algiers where many musicians lived but were forced to leave, scattering to other cities.

Viewers will see the devastation first hand. Blues singer Irma Thomas walks through her famous club, the Lions Den, which was destroyed by the storm and will not be rebuilt. We also visit her soaked, soiled and severely damaged home. Kermit Ruffins tells about his lost possessions and move to Houston. Paul Sanchez of Cowboy Mouth shares how he has been living out of his tour bus. He says, My home had ten feet of water and I had nine-foot ceilings. The first month was easy to keep your spirits up, because it was like, this adventure But now, were over two months in and the funs gone out of it and I just want to go home. Phil Frazer, leader of the ReBirth Brass Band says, I lost a couple of cars and the roof was gone from my house. Both of our drummers, their houses were submerged under water completely. They lost everything.

Funds raised from the New Orleans Music in Exile Concert and Benefit on May 13 will support the Tipitinas Foundations
Instruments A Comin and Hurricane Katrina: Artist Relief programs. These efforts provide material support for school music programs and direct assistance to musicians and their families affected by hurricane Katrina. For more information about Tipitinas Foundation, visit, www.tipitinasfoundation.org.

The Tipitinas Foundation is pleased to be working with Starz Entertainment Group in this fundraising campaign and New Orleans Music in Exile Benefit and Concert, said Bill Taylor, the foundations director. Our efforts are devoted to helping to rebuild New Orleans music culture and heritage. This event will be of great assistance in our efforts. We are honored to be a part of this event and look forward to providing the funds received from this effort to the musicians and their families and the students who need and deserve it.

People interested in contributing to help New Orleans musicians and music programs can send donations to Tipitinas Foundation, Attention: Music in Exile, 800 Baronne Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70113.

UrbanWorld Wireless Teams Up With Jamster!

New 'Street Beatz' Category Created Exclusively for Deejays, Producers and Unsigned Artists!

LOS ANGELES, March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- UrbanWorld Wireless, the premier leader of original mobile content, continues its mission to link urban content with wireless technology through its impressive artist roster that includes the hottest names in music, sports, comedy, film and more. Now the company has created a new ringtone category made exclusively for deejays, high profile producers and the hottest unsigned artists, called "Street Beatz."

The role of the deejay has completely evolved from the 70s to today, making this new category extremely important. Initially the deejay was responsible for spinning records at parties, but today deejays are changing urban culture. The role of the deejay has gone from block parties to the creation of mixtapes, hosting their own radio shows, variety television shows, to ultimately having their own record deals. "Although the industry is focused on ringtones by hip-hop artists, comedians, Hollywood celebrities and sports figures, we recognize the deejay to be just as influential," says Mike Johns, UrbanWorld CEO. "This new category will extend the impact of the deejay and transcend the energy of the party to the wireless world, much like other ringtones do."

Jamster!, a worldwide leading mobile entertainment portal, is the first to introduce the new category. "UrbanWorld is fulfilling a significant need with this new category and we are excited to be the first leading the industry in its implementation," says Randall Paul, Senior Licensing Manager for Jamster! International. "Street Beatz" are accessible at www.jamster.com by entering "Street Beatz" in the search feature of the website.

The category features the hottest deejays in the country, many of whom are on UrbanWorld's elite roster, representing the sounds of both coasts and the "Dirty South." UrbanWorld's deejay roster includes:

* The World Famous DJ Kid Capri is a true hip-hop veteran credited with
several "firsts" -- the first deejay to appear on television, the first
deejay to produce ringtones and most recently, he announced his first
mobile game, "Kid Capri presents Hip-Hop 101," making him the first
deejay to have a mobile game. His new record label, NO KID'N RECORDS,
will launch his first Hip-Hop artist, Budda in 2006.

* Spinderella, the First Lady of UrbanWorld, got her start as the deejay
for female rap group Salt & Pepa. She was recognized at the 2005 VH1
Hip-Hop Honors, along with Salt & Pepa for their numerous contributions
to hip-hop music. For the last two years, Spin took over the airwaves
during afternoon drive on 100.3 the Beat in Los Angeles along with
co-host A-One. In addition to deejaying the hottest private parties
and industry events, Spin can be heard on her nationally syndicated
radio show "The Back Spin."

* DJ Whookid is the official deejay for G-Unit, home to platinum rap
artist 50 Cent. His popular "G-Unit Radio" radio shows on New York's
Hot 97 and Sirius Satellite Radio's SHADE 45 have spread around the
globe, from Europe to Japan and beyond. DJ Whookid has spanned
hip-hop's full spectrum of talent, working with platinum artists Busta
Rhymes, Twista, Li'l Flip, and others.

* Fatman Scoop, hip-hop artist and producer, was featured on two hit
songs in 2005, "Its Like That" for Mariah Carey and "Lose Control" for
Missy Elliott. The Missy Elliott track, featuring platinum selling
artist Ciara, earned him two Grammy nominations for Best Rap Song and
Best Short Form Music Video. Currently Fatman Scoop dominates the
airways as a host on New York's popular Hot 97.

* DJ Clue is considered the Godfather of mixtapes and has been
influential in breaking the careers of numerous artists, including
platinum recording artist Fabolous, Joe Budden and DJ Envy. His first
mixtape, The Professional: Part I, was the first mixtape to sell over
one million copies. DJ Clue has his own show on the popular New York
Hot 97 and is also one of the hottest club deejays, hyping parties all
over the world.

* DJ Kay Slay aka "The Drama King" has worked with many platinum artists
including 50 Cent and Eminem. He's received numerous awards, most
recently at the 2005 Mixtape Awards. Through his connections in the
music industry, he brokered a major label deal with Sony for his
Streetsweepers mixtape series. He hosts shows on New York's Hot 97 and
Sirius Satellite Radio's SHADE 45.

In recognizing DJ Kay Slay's creative genius of discovering new talent, UrbanWorld has him heavily involved in bringing new talent to the company. Most recently, he played an integral role in UrbanWorld signing Papoose, the first unsigned artist to get a ringtone deal. This amazing rapper banged out 10 official solo mixtapes in 2005 packed with freestyles, cameos and remixes. Buzzing harder than any other underground artist in the mixtape circle, Papoose was a natural for the "Best Underground Artist on a Mixtape" Award at Justo's Annual Mixtape Awards. "Eminem and 50 Cent both came from the mixtape and the next rapper in the era is Papoose," says DJ Kay Slay. "I'm excited to help UrbanWorld maintain its ear to the streets and bring in new talent!"

Tre Wheelz Keep on Turning: Multi-Talented Hip-Hop Artist and Songwriter Taps into Gospel, Jazz and R&B on ``Story to Tell''

His Upcoming Debut for Qwilite Entertainment

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 28, 2006--Following up on the hot initial response to its first two artists Hyphen-One and Ranjini, Qwilite Entertainment -- the cutting edge new label launched by famed songwriter and producer Quincy Patrick (Babyface, Usher, Luther Vandross, The Temptations) -- heads into urban overdrive with the emergence of New Jersey based, multi-talented hip-hop/rap artist and songwriter Tre Wheelz.

Wheelz, whose professional moniker is a clever reworking of his birth name Tracy Williams, recently shot a video and did the final mixes for "All You Need," the romantic, old school vibin' first single from his eagerly anticipated label debut "Story To Tell." The track is set to drop to urban and alternative radio any minute, with the 15-track album to follow in the spring. Radio is already all over "Music Box," the hit pop single he worked on for his labelmate, the exotic R&B/pop singer Ranjini.

"I think people love to categorize artists like myself as just rappers, but I'm really about creating something fresh in the hip-hop world and music industry in general because I don't just write rap songs," he says. "I write all kinds of tunes, from gospel to jazz to R&B."

"Story To Tell" includes songs where Wheelz addresses hot button topics such as religion and world issues as well, in addition to people he knows who have been in prison a long time. Perhaps the most heartfelt joint is the title cut, in which he talks about his new responsibilities and wanting to take care of his two-year-old daughter Kazori.

"I was just trying to put my demo together when a producer I knew named Earl "Uug" Walker heard about Quincy Patrick starting up his new label. Earl told Quincy about me, and Quincy said he was impressed with some early stuff, but told me to keep developing my craft and let him hear more as I kept recording. After I did another ten or twelve tracks, Q was feeling them, and signed me to Qwilite in August, 2005.

"I think he liked my music because it wasn't the typical shoot 'em up hip-hop," Wheelz says.

Racial/Geographic Diversity Key to Unlocking $500 Billion Purchasing Power of Urban Youth

NEW YORK, Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Conclusively showing that marketers need to view "urban" as a state of mind rather than a geographic place, a new report, The U.S. Urban Youth Market: Tapping the Power of the Trendsetting Hip-Hop Culture and Lifestyle, delves into the world of the 24 million 15- to 29-year-olds who connect with hip-hop music, affiliate with hip-hop culture, and pack a robust purchasing power of $500 billion.

According to Packaged Facts, a division of MarketResearch.com, hip-hop consumers living outside the 100 largest metropolitan areas in relatively small cities, towns, and rural areas generally reflect the same attitudes and values expressed by their large metropolitan-dwelling counterparts, responding equally to the power of hip-hop cultural trends.

And setting trends is what hip-hop-loving, urban youth do best as they exude a lust for anything new, with strong affiliations for the latest hand- held devices and internet technology, drinks and snacks, and personal care items.

Easily crossing racial lines, the hip-hop cultural experience is significantly preferred by females -- 58.8% vs. 41.2% males -- and hip-hop continues to hold the most weight with 15- to 17-year-olds, with nearly half (48.8%) of those in this age group being hip-hop fans.

"For perhaps the first time since the beginning of the hip-hop culture, we've been able to provide an empirical definition of what this market truly is," said Don Montuori, the publisher of Packaged Facts. "We finally have the hard data showing the difference in core values between young people who affiliate with hip-hop and those who don't, and the eye-opening differences span a wide range of areas from shopping behavior and purchasing decisions, to attitudes towards cars, media usage and fashion."

The U.S. Urban Youth Market's innovative research methodology brings to life the essence of the hip-hop consumer, providing groundbreaking data on a vast range of consumer goods, attitudes and behaviors that not only define, but are defined by this unique consumer group. Priced at $3,500, this report can be purchased directly from Packaged Facts by clicking: http://www.packagedfacts.com/pub/1119538.html. It is also available at MarketResearch.com.

Domino Sheds New Light On Hiero's Slept-On and Underrated Tracks

(Brooklyn, NY- February 28, 2006) Hiero Imperium CEO and producer
extraordinaire Domino hosts the latest edition of the Hieroglyphics'
Podcast. Domino takes listeners on a tour of tracks that he feels have
been
overlooked and merit another listen. The 6 tracks span a decade and
feature
Hiero stalwarts Opio, Pep Love, O.C., Encore, Casual, and the

For those unfamiliar with the Hierocast, the format is much more
"behind-the-music" than frenzied mixtape. Domino's commentary gives the
songs context that listeners can't get anywhere else by providing the
background stories and underlying concepts of the tracks. Speaking
about the
Hieroglyphics' track "Shout It Out", Domino explains, " The vibe of
this
song is what Hieroglyphics is all about. It was originally recorded for
the
Full Circle album, but didn't make the album. Now when I listen to it
I
wonder why it didn't make it. " Domino introduces O.C.'s track
"Emotions"
by saying, " One of the things I respect O.C. for is that he has always
been
able to make songs that have depth and are reflective. O.C. is a true
lyricist."

Hiero Imperium Records is an artist owned and run label based in
Oakland,
California. Hiero's artists have sold over 1 million units and the

MTV NEWS PRESENTS MY BLOCK: THE BAY PREMIERING MARCH 5 AT 2PM ON MTV2 AND MARCH 16 AT 7PM ON MTV

MTV News Correspondent Sway Calloway Heads Back To His Hometown To Bring National Attention to Bay Area Superstars at the Frontline of Hip Hop Today

After visits to hip-hop's Southern capitals, MTV News' My Block series heads West, descending on one of the country's most prolific and prodigious rap scenes the Bay Area. Encompassing the cities of San Francisco, Oakland and Vallejo, the "Yay Area" has long had its own unique way of doing things: from its animated artists and legendary rap icons to the ingenious brand of cultivated slang to its distinctive balance between creative backpack rap and savvy hustler music. My Block: The Bay premieres on Monday, March 5 at 2PM on MTV2 and March 16 at 7PM on MTV.

My Block: The Bay is a homecoming for MTV News Correspondent Sway Calloway who opens the show literally from the East Oakland block where he grew up, taking viewers through the Bay Area's rich social and musical history, from the Black Panthers to 2Pac, from the lyrical mastery of the Hieroglyphics to the hip-hop pop of MC Hammer, with special cameos by both. My Block looks at the artists and subcultures that are defining the Yay right now, showcasing the next generation and evolution of the hip-hop scene, the Hyphy movement, Northern Californias Crunk.

Featured segments

E-40
My Block viewers are introduced to the vibe of the Bay Area hip-hop scene it's aesthetics, language, community and style through its veteran star E-40, whose recent hit "Tell Me When To Go" is destined to be the new Hyphy anthem. He breaks down the attitude that has created the Hyphy movement, why the Bay has such a unique influence on hip-hop history, and how all rap roads run through E-40.

Keak Da Sneak and The Hyphy Test
Keak Da Sneak (also featured on E-40's "Tell Me When To Go"), breaks down the Hyphy movement for Sway, showing us the language, dances and culture surrounding Hyphy. Keak, one of the new stars of the Bay, also shows Sway the Hyphy test that he gives all his new tunes all you need is a car, a stereo and a crowd.

Mistah FAB and the Thizz Movement
The other movement happening in the Bay, an off-shoot of Hyphy, is Thizz, and its breakout star is Mistah FAB. Fab tells Sway what Thizz is, why people in the Bay need to "ride the short yellow bus" and what the "Nation of Thizzlam" is. He shows how people "go dumb" in their cars and explains why the entire Thizz movement pays homage to fallen Bay hero Mac Dre aka Thizzelle Washington.

Too Short and the Town
Too Short is the original, dirty-mouthed "P.I.M.P.", who mixed clever rhymes and a bold persona to create the template of the street-savvy, thug rapper. An Atlanta resident now, Too Short returns to Oakland to drive Sway around the city's backstreets - in a classic, pimped out Oakland-style convertible and to talk about the Bay's vibe, past and present. Short takes viewers to a spot where an impromptu bike "Sideshow" breaks out, illustrating the biker culture of the Bay.

San Fran Stars
On the other side of the Bay, in San Francisco, My Block checks in with its local stars, JT The Bigga Figga and San Quinn. They explain how 'hoods exist right in the middle of the city, just three blocks from City Hall, and how that dichotomy plays into the music they make.

New Artists Spotlights Turf Talk and Zion I
Turf Talk, who was featured on The Federation's Hyphy song, signed to E-40's label (Sic Wid It Records) and is one of the big emerging stars out of the Bay Area. He takes us to his hood in Vallejo, CA to show us how he got put on and talk about his unique lyrical flow. Zion I, the rap/DJ crew that mixes conscious-raps, old-school energy and new-school beats, is the favorite group of artists like Talib Kweli, The Roots and Mos Def.

Ladies of Soul
Contrasting all the braggadocio of Bay Area hip-hop, there is a soulful current that runs through the Bay Area. Keyshia Cole takes us back to her block and talks about how she got her start and the part of the Bay 'hoods that still lives inside of her. Also featured is Goapale, a new artist from the Bay who is often compared to Alicia Keys, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu.

Log on for more from the exciting Bay scene at overdrive.mtv.com. Also on air, 10 spot drop, which introduces viewers to new music during the networks primetime programming, will feature tracks from E-40s next album and the video for the breakthrough hit Tell Me When To Go starting March 16 on MTV.

Navarre's FUNimation Entertainment Acquires Rights to Afro Samurai

Unique, Dramatic Mini-Series to Premiere on Spike TV in 2006 With DVD Expected in Early 2007

FORT WORTH, Texas, Feb. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- FUNimation(R) Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corporation (NASDAQ:NAVR) , and a brand management company and one of the nation's leading independent home video entertainment companies, has acquired home video, master toy and merchandising rights to Afro Samurai, an animated mini-series that will premiere on Spike TV in 2006. Academy Award-nominated actor Samuel L. Jackson is set to voice and co-produce the mini-series.

Afro Samurai is based on a graphic novel by Takashi Okazaki and is planned for release at the end of 2006 on Spike TV. Following the North American debut, the mini-series is scheduled for broadcast release in Japan. Afro Samurai is a fusion of animation, science fiction and hip-hop that GONZO, producer of the series and a division of GDH, is using to create the next evolution in entertainment.

"Afro Samurai has a fascinating story line and will undoubtedly have GONZO's stunning animation. High impact titles like this emphasize FUNimation's 'quality over quantity' strategy," says Gen Fukunaga, president and CEO of FUNimation Entertainment. "This is truly a unique project with an impressive team. GONZO is on board as series producer, Samuel L. Jackson is the voice of the lead character and also serving as co-producer, Spike TV is set to telecast the five-part mini-series, and NAMCO is creating the video game."

"Afro Samurai will change the way people think about animation and we look forward to working with FUNimation on the brand and bringing this never-before-seen experience to DVD."

The tale of Afro Samurai takes place in a unique world that is part ancient Japan and part futuristic science fiction fantasy. Samuel L. Jackson stars as "Afro" the solitary samurai on a quest to avenge the wrongful death of his father. It is a story of bloody hardship and pain. Afro sheds no tears and knows no love. Forever chased by powerful enemies in a lawless technology- speckled dystopia, he evades bullets and blade to reach his final prey: a man who will not die.

Honeywell and NASA Launch 2006 Spring Tour of FMA Live!

Award-Winning Hip Hop Science Education Program to Reach 20,000 Students During 14-Week Tour

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Honeywell (NYSE:HON) and the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) launched the 2006 spring tour of their award-winning FMA Live! science education program today at Vista View Middle School in Fountain Valley, California. The innovative, traveling hip hop science concert will reach nearly 20,000 students in 45 schools during its 14-week, 27-city tour across the Unites States.

(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20060227/NYM016 )

Named for Sir Isaac Newton's second law of motion (force = mass x acceleration) FMA Live! uses professional actors, original songs, music videos and interactive science demonstrations to teach middle school students Newton's three laws of motion and universal law of gravity. Created by Honeywell and NASA in 2004, FMA Live! has already traveled 23,000 miles, covering 32 U.S. states to reach more than 73,000 students in 153 schools.

"FMA Live! continues to inspire students to pursue technology-related careers," said Tom Buckmaster, President, Honeywell Hometown Solutions. "Honeywell is committed to providing students and teachers with programs and experiences that bring science to life in memorable, life-changing ways."

Research shows that fewer people are pursuing science, math and engineering careers while employment opportunities in these fields will increase three times faster than all other occupations. FMA Live! addresses key learning objectives identified by the National Science Education Standards to increase student interest and participation in the sciences.

"Through programs like FMA Live!, NASA and Honeywell are improving the public's understanding and appreciation of science, technology, engineering and mathematics," said Jim Stofan, Acting Deputy Assistant Administrator for Education Programs, NASA Headquarters. "This is one of the ways NASA works to engage and inspire the next generation of explorers."

During each FMA Live! performance, students, teachers and school administrators interact with three professional actors on stage in front of a live audience to experience Newton's laws firsthand. A large Velcro wall is used to demonstrate inertia, go-carts driven across the stage illustrate action and reaction, and 'extreme' wrestling and a huge soccer ball show that force is determined by mass multiplied by acceleration. All three of Newton's laws are exemplified simultaneously when a futuristic hover chair collides with a gigantic cream pie. Feedback from educators and participants has been overwhelmingly positive.

"FMA Live! is the best teaching performance I've ever seen," said Judy Austin, Principal, Greenbelt Middle School. "Not only is it entertaining but students learn Newton's laws with memorable effect."

FMA Live! will perform in the following cities during the 9,000 mile spring tour: Los Angeles, California; Phoenix, Arizona; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Albuquerque and Las Cruces, New Mexico; Dallas, Houston and Orange, Texas; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Jackson, Mississippi; Anniston, Alabama; Tampa, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville, Florida; Savannah, Georgia; Rocky Mount, North Carolina; Richmond, Virginia; Louisville, Kentucky; Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee; St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri; Olathe and Wichita, Kansas; and Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In 2005, FMA Live! was awarded a gold SABRE award and recognized as the best community relations program worldwide by The Holmes Group. The entire program, including the 18-wheel truck, tour bus and 10-person street team, is fully funded by Honeywell.

FMA Live! is part of Honeywell Hometown Solutions, the company's community outreach initiative which focuses on three areas of vital importance: Family Safety and Security; Housing and Shelter; and Science and Math Education. Together with leading public and non-profit institutions, Honeywell has developed powerful programs to address these needs in its communities. Honeywell also partners with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children for the abduction prevention program, Got 2B Safe!; and Rebuilding Together on home revitalization projects for low-income homeowners.

Honeywell International is a $28 billion diversified technology and manufacturing leader, serving customers worldwide with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes and industry; automotive products; turbochargers; and specialty materials. Based in Morris Township, N.J., Honeywell's shares are traded on the New York, London, Chicago and Pacific Stock Exchanges. It is one of the 30 stocks that make up the Dow Jones Industrial Average and is also a component of the Standard & Poor's 500 Index. Alabama Artists Dominate Atlanta's Hottest Producers Battle

The My Beats Are the Illest producers battle brings the best producers along the east coast to battle for bragging rights, street credibility, and a cash prize. Masterminded by Tyrik of World Premiere, and Hotep of Skinnymen Productions, this battle proves to be tough and entertaining battle for battle. It's held the last Thursday of every month, and consists of three rounds of sonic battle. This battles organizers equate this event to the 8 Mile for producers.

Like Hip-Hop itself, fashion, and all things considered cool, the producers battle was originally dominated by producers from Northern areas. However, in January, Sam Addams from Woodshed Studios in Tuscaloosa, Alabama proved that his beats were definitely the illest. Continuing what producer Sam Addams calls the takeover, his protg, M16, also from Woodshed Studios in Tuscaloosa, won the producers battle for February.

Sam Addams says, "Man! It feels damn good to finally get some respect. People just assume for some reason that if youre from Alabama, you're slow, and that you can't be a part of Hip-Hop. Like everybody else in our generation, we love Hip-Hop, and embrace the culture. You can believe that we're going to make our mark, and go down in Hip-Hop history. Our main goal right now is to put Alabama on the map."

M16 and Sam Addams both say they won't enter the battle again, because they are now saving those good beats to sell and not display. They admit there is yet another producer coming from their studio to enter the battle next month. Who it is remains a mystery. They are both working and negotiating with well known artists and record labels, and looking forward to working with more artists in the near future.

New Podbop Music Service Uses EVDB Events & Venues Database to Power Live Music Search by City

1st Place Mashup Camp Winner Mixes EVDB Concert Information with Music Podcasts

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- EVDB, Inc., a provider of event and venue aggregation and search technology for online applications, announced today that its EVDB Events and Venues Database is powering the live music search function of Podbop, a new service that combines concert information with podcasts allowing music fans to test-drive unfamiliar bands before buying concert tickets.

Podbop, available at http://podbop.org/ , won the first-place Best Mashup Award at Mashup Camp in California this week for the best application combining multiple web services. The site was created by Taylor McKnight and Daniel Westermann-Clark.

Podbop is using EVDB's technology to enable users to search for live concerts by city. Search results are drawn from the EVDB database, a collaborative web services platform for aggregating, searching, indexing and publishing millions of events, venues, calendars and related information worldwide. The database was integrated into Podbop using the EVDB Web Services Application Programming Interface (API).

Users interested in learning about bands coming to their area can download free MP3s directly from Podbop, eliminating the need to track down websites and MP3s for each performer. The site also allows users to sign up for an RSS feed that will deliver automatic MP3 downloads when a band on the system is due to perform in their town. Independent labels including Saddle Creek, Sub Pop and Vagrant are already providing free downloads of more than 2,300 songs by 1,500 artists.

"Podbop is just one example of the tools and applications that can be built with our EVDB API, and industry watchers are saying that it's the most interesting mashup yet," said Brian Dear, founder and CEO of EVDB, Inc. "This is the tip of the iceberg in the mashup movement and the transition to the Web 2.0 era, and the Mashup Award proves that our platform has legs."
