Relaunch - 10/5/04
The below statements about privacy hold true, as always. We're
excited to be relaunching and looking forward to further growth and
service.
General Update - 3/31/04
netweed is continuing to grow and to find ways to balance
the needs of paying the bills and providing access to resources that
people will find useful. In March of 2004, we had more than
40,000 page views and 15,000 unique visitors. Of course, unique
visitors are impossible to measure unless all users sign in, a feature
we don't have, but that's our best guess based on industry standards.
We're very happy about this growth, especially Clyde, who's the brains
behind netweed, assuming this is a brains-type operation!
Privacy Policy - Updated 3/31/04
netweed does not gather information that could be used to
identify users at a later date or to monitor individual user behavior.
However, we reserve the right to gather aggregate data that allows
us to figure out such things as where our users come from, if clicking
through from another page, or which offers on netweed are
clicked through. Such information is not connected to individual
users by netweed.
However we do allow partner companies to gather needed information.
Such information includes but is not limited to the following:
setting cookies in order to specify the appropriate delivery of ads,
collecting email addresses and other information as necessary for
visitor participation in particular offerings (this information would
be requested as needed).
All such policies are open to future change as necessary with announcements
posted to this page.
netweed tries to do business only with companies that have
ethical privacy policies but, once you leave netweed, you
must examine the privacy policies of the sites you visit in order
to ensure that your standards are being met.
Currently we are running popunder ads from fastclick, one during
each 12 hour period, which involves the use of cookies. For
more information see the fastclick
Privacy Policy.
If you're interested in advertising or receiving ads see:
fastclick.com
Our clickthrough text ads are provided by Google.
Their Privacy
Policy.
Merchandise offerings come from Amazon.com.
Here's their Privacy
and Security Policy.
We are offering a free trial of
NETFLIX
and you can see their Privacy
Policy.
And a free business card offer from
Vistaprint.
Their Privacy
Policy.
We are also running some text ads for free offers via Websponsors
and here's their Privacy
Policy.
Periodically we explore similar options from other companies.
Please examine their privacy policies when considering their offers.
We will make the least intrusive choices that will still allow us
to effectively support this project. Future updates will be
found on this page and major change alerts will be posted on the home
page. If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, please
do not hesitate to contact Clyde Smith.
