(PRWEB) May 19, 2006 -- Hip Hop Congress will be holding its 5th annual conference in Boulder, Co from Thursday June 22nd to Sunday, June 25th. The Hip Hop Congress National Conference is a centralization meeting for Hip Hop Congress chapters, artists and members throughout the country. Hip Hop Congress is a 501©3 Non-Profit organization and international grassroots network whose mission is to unite, educate, and empower individuals. We utilize Hip Hop to inspire civic action and cultural creativity within the community. Hip Hop Congress has about 30 chapters throughout the country and works with artists, organizers, promoters and a host of other institutions and organizations. Hip Hop Congress is involved in education, culture, politics, social justice and industry.
This year’s national conference will help in developing a national service infrastructure for HHC with a variety of different student groups, artists and partners. This means working with more students, more artists and more communities. Workshops will include interactive discussions on Health Care, International Hip Hop, Hip Hop and Education, the future of the element of emceeing, Youth Violence and much more. In addition, each night there will be showcase featuring independent acts from Colorado like Black Pegasus, and Hip Hop Congress acts from all over the country like Dlabrie and the Jacka from the Bay Area and Alex Schein from the Midwest.
Hip Hop Congress National Conferences have taken place all across the country: San Jose, Los Angeles, St. Louis, and Chicago. This year’s choice to hold the Conference in Boulder was to honor the work of the chapter in that area and to hold the conference in a region HHC has yet to do so. HHC has invited and will continue to invite partners, artists, organizers and friends of the organization from all over the country. With such an explosive year on the national and international front, this year’s conference plans to be a charged event with ripples that will felt throughout the country.
Registration for this conference is $20, and can be obtained the day of the event after registration. Within the coming weeks, a schedule along with a listing of performers slated to appear at the event will be made public. If you are interested in participating in workshops, performances, as a sponsor or supporter, please contact Shamako Noble at 408-332-6262. Hip Hop Congress is a 501©3 organization, and your contributions can help make our conference great. All financial contributions are tax deductible.

Hip Hop Album Releases for May 16 (Plus Kanye West)

Maybe everybody else heard about this but me. However, I was surprised enough at finding out about Kanye West's recently released import only cd
Late Orchestration: Live at Abbey Road Studios that I decided, what the heck, I'll feature it. I have no idea why this hasn't been more widely released. It seems like a lot of people would want to hear it.

Hip Hop Album Releases for May 2
Any thoughts on the Dixie flag image on this mixtape? I'm a bit surprised to see it there though you will occasionally see Black Southerners wearing it as, I assume, a regional signifier. Feel free to
add your comments over at ProHipHop.
