MusicDock: A Service To Sell Music And Digital Content Without Startup Fees Is Relaunched

MusicDock launches a new version of a service to sell digital content. Now there is no need to own an expensive infrastructure to set up an online shop. MusicDock provides hosting and payment solution and shares the risk with everybody who wants to setup a shop without charging for the setup.

Hamburg (PRWEB) December 22, 2005 -- MusicDock has released version 3.0 of their innovative music-download shop solution. MusicDock makes it easy for labels and artists to sell music downloads on their own website. Using a completely internet-based administration interface they labels and artists can create their own shop, upload tracks, customize the design, integrate it into their website and start selling right away.

Version 3.0 comes along with many improvements. To mention some of them the shop owner can use an affiliate marketing system and free-download-vouchers to help promote his shop. We are helping shop owners to do marketing for their own site to get them in direct contact to their fans and target group which is a main subject to optimize sales, says Sam Jankowski. The shop interface is now available in English, German and Spanish. Forums have been started to enable shop owners to exchange knowledge among themselves and the MusicDock staff. Video can now be offered as an add-on for tracks and albums.

On the financial aspect, MusicDock updated their service models. MusicDock charges shop owners a 40% service charge on achieved revenue. The service charge drops to 35% when reaching monthly revenue of 250 EUR. It drops to 30% when reaching 2500 EUR. MusicDock does not charge any setup or fixed monthly fees.

With the update to version 3.0, MusicDock keeps its head start to similar solutions and is consequently working together with its customers on a better solution for direct music download sales. MusicDock already serves over 100 shops (since its start in August 2004), among them the well-known alternative act Project Pitchfork.

MusicDock is managed by the Germans Wolfgang Kundrus (former Chief-Architect of the music production software Cubase and Nuendo) and Thomas Samuel Jankowski (manager of the music portal Chaishop.com). They are confident that MusicDock will give a fresh impulse on the way to a more diverse, more innovative and more independent music market.
