RED Distribution and Houston based Wreckshop Records have reached an exclusive distribution agreement effective immediately.

Wreckshop was formed in 1997 by ambitious founder and visionary Derrick Dwreck Dixon.

In the late 90s Dixon met a Houston area MC by the name of Fat Pat, already a member of the infamous Screwed Up Click, a Houston based collective led by the legendary DJ Screw. In the summer of '98 Wreckshop released Fat Pat's debut album Ghetto Dreams selling over 200K units. Unfortunately, Pat was killed before he could enjoy the record's success. The Wreckshop Family would carry his legacy forward, releasing a collection of classic Fat Pat Hits entitled Fat Pat and the Wreckshop Family, Throwed in The Game which has sold over 100K units.

Wreckshop Records went on to sign ESG and Big Moe also from The Screwed Up Click. Big Moe's debut album City of Syrup has soundscanned 179K units, and ESGs City Under Siege has scanned 66K units.

Wreckshop Records along with Swish A House are pioneering labels bringing forth a new southern school of rap music called Screwed and Chopped best represented by current Swish A House artist Mike Jones whos album Who Is Mike Jones was just certified Platinum by the RIAA.

Wreckshop Records is already powerhouse in Houston and will soon be a powerhouse nationwide through their partnership with RED.

6-5/KGB/Warner Music Latin Recording Artist, LOOSE CANNON Fires Off Debut Album, "Who Do U Think U R ?"

(Newark, N.J.) The universe has felt the tremor of Brick City representative LOOSE CANNON for a long time now since he originally emerged on the scene several years ago at Miamis How Can I Be Down music conference. I know that I possess all the components that make up a great emcee. he says. Sounds pompous and a tad bit overzealous? Maybe

On Tuesday September 13th, Loose Cannon will finally unleash the long-awaited and highly anticipated debut album, Who Do U Think U R? on 6-5/KGB Records distributed by Warner Music Latin. The album features ten Loose Cannon originals with three skits as well as guest appearances by Terror Squads Fat Joe and Tony Sunshine and fellow Brick City native, Rah Digga. Who Do U Think U R? also features production from Scott Storch (Lean Back), Nick Fury, Dame Grease, Sedeck Jean, and many more.

In 2000 Loose Cannon landed a feature in the Source Magazines coveted Unsigned Hype column and hes been on fire ever since. After getting noticed by Ruff Ryders CEO Wah Dean and his flagship artist, DMX, Loose Cannon soon appeared on several of DMXs albums, Its Dark and Hell is Hot (1998), The Great Depression (2002), as well as the soundtrack to Cradle to the Grave (2003). It wasnt until Loose Cannon signed to DMXs label, Bloodline/Def Jam that things began to turn sour. He eventually bounced from Xs label citing lack of support from the powers-that-be. Not to be outdone and with a lot to get off his chest, Loose Cannon released the controversy-laden mixtape aptly titled, The Loose Cannon Mixtape Album selling an impressive 10,000 units out of the trunk.

Fast forward to 2005the lead club single from the debut album, Take It Off (featuring Fat Joe and Tony Sunshine) is currently burning up mixshows and charts around the country. Loose explores the concept of death in a gripping and thought-provoking fashion in the Scott Storch produced B-side, Almost Died touching the hearts of the hardest of the hard rocks. His brand new music video Who Do U think U R? video is currently being independently promoted nationally in over 40 markets via urban video shows. His mighty force is seemingly unstoppable!

Who Do U Think U R is a compelling collection of insightful rhymes, catchy hooks and fresh beats. You will surely remember the name Loose Cannon from beginning to end. .

S.A.S aka Mega and Mayhem, were thrown in to the media spotlight a year and a half ago, after it was announced by Dame Dash, that they were going to be the first UK act, signing to Roc-A-Fella Records. Sadly when Dame, Biggs and Jay decided to part
company the prospect of them officially signing to the label vanished in to a puff of smoke. However all was not lost and in 2005 S.A.S are back, and this time with the entire Dip Set familia behind them.

After the well publicised ROC split S.A.S still remained in contact with Dip Set captain Jim Jones, for it was he who first saw their potential, helping to spark the interest of music fans, his own label artists, and Dame Dash. This has never been forgotten by the
duo who say we stayed loyal to the Diplomats. They saw our vision before our own country did.

Even though they have a huge fan base spanning across Europe, the UK music industry still refuses to welcome them in to the fold, which hasnt gone unnoticed. Mayhem tells Write On Point the UK industry tries to behave as if we dont exist. But it's cool because were touring the UK and Europe off our mixtape Who Dares Wins, and in a year from now, we will be on top of the globe.

The S.A.S album, Diplomat Records presents Streets All Salute the prequel album will be out in late October.

Write On Point is an informative and dynamic online publication, dedicated to giving its visitors up to date news and information, from within the world of black entertainment on both sides of the Atlantic. It also aims to give maximum exposure to up-coming home grown UK talent, and information on showcases / events taking place throughout the year.

Bow Wow's Everybody's Most 'Wanted'!

Hip-Hop Heartthrob's Latest Album RETURNS To The Top 10!

Bow Wow Conquers Nation's Airwaves with Two Smash Singles 'Let Me Hold You' (Featuring Omarion) & 'Like You' (Featuring Ciara)

NEW YORK, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The multi-platinum hip-hop heartthrob Bow Wow is living up to his status as a bona fide superstar as his sizzling new album, Wanted (available as a traditional CD or as a DualDisc) returns to the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 bestselling albums chart while his latest pair of singles, "Let Me Hold You" (featuring Omarion), and "Like You" (featuring Ciara), continue to light up the nation's airwaves reaching tens of millions of listeners coast-to-coast. Both Bow Wow's current singles are riding high on the nation's Hot 100 with "Let Me Hold You" holding steady at #4 and "Like You" bulleting its way up to #12.

Though only 18, Bow Wow's already a veteran rapper with a string of multi-platinum successes behind him. Wanted, his eagerly-awaited fourth album, debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 best-selling albums chart and has already sold more than 328,000 copies. With sales of more than 50,000 copies this week alone, Wanted has returned to the Top 10 and is the nation's #2 Rap Album and #3 R&B Album. Bow Wow's latest has generated two smash singles to-date: "Let Me Hold You" (featuring Omarion) and "Like You" (featuring Ciara).

Produced by superstar hit maker Jermaine Dupri, "Let Me Hold You," a collaboration with fellow hip-hop heartthrob Omarion, has been the #1 record on the Urban Mainstream Monitor and the #1 record on the Top 40 Rhythm chart for the past four weeks.

The artist's new single, "Like You" (featuring Ciara), also produced by hit maker Jermaine Dupri, is extending the building buzz on Bow Wow as the Heart Throb Tour continues to sell out venues across the country (full itinerary following).

Bow Wow's provocative video for "Like You" has been the #1 downloaded clip on and is AOL's #1 video worldwide, with more than 1.4 million plays to-date.

Bow Wow's singles are Sony BMG's two top-selling ringtones this week: #1: "Let Me Hold You" (more than 700,000 sold) and #2: "Like You" (more than 200,000 sold).

A recent New York in-store appearance celebrating the release of Wanted was the scene of pure pandemonium with thousands of delirious and frenzied fans lining up for hours for their chance to meet Bow Wow in person. New York's Mayor Michael Bloomberg was reportedly "met with a mob of screaming teenage girls on his way to work...." (New York Daily News (Wednesday, July 13, 2005).

The fan-driven hysteria at the Bow Wow in-store provided a fitting prelude to the hip-hop icon's SRO "Scream Tour IV Presents: The Heart Throb Tour," which opened in Trenton, New Jersey on July 20.

For the Scream Tour IV, Bow Wow has joined forces with fellow superstar Omarion for a series of historic North American concerts. Other acts on the Scream Tour IV include Bobby Valentino, Pretty Ricky, Marques Houston, and B5.

2005 is shaping up to be a very big year for Bow Wow. In addition to the release of his new album and the Scream IV tour, Bow Wow will light up the big screen this fall with a starring role in the feature film, "Roll Bounce," a teenage skater-dramedy set in the late 1970s. A Fox Searchlight release, "Roll Bounce" is slated to open nationwide on September 23, 2005.

Bow Wow first burst on the scene back in 2000 -- under the wing of super producer Jermaine Dupri -- with his debut album, Beware of Dog, which went on to sell more than three million copies while solidifying his status as an authentic hip-hop heartthrob.

Bow Wow took his brand of rap to the next level with 2001's Doggy Bag, hitting the road in support of his multi-platinum sophomore CD with the sold-out "Scream Tour II," wowing fans all over the country with hits like "Take Ya Home" and "Thank You."

Bow Wow's undeniable star power led to starring roles in the box office triumph "Like Mike" (one of the 50 Top-Grossing films of 2002) and the subsequent hits "All About The Benjamins" (2002) and "Johnson Family Vacation" (2004).

With his third album, 2003's Unleashed, Bow Wow became more directly involved with writing and producing his music, creating a collection directly from the heart, conveying a more personal overview of life from Bow Wow's perspective.

He is the youngest musician to open the Grammy Awards, is the first "kid" to be included in Vanity Fair's prestigious annual music issue (October 2001), and entered the "The Guinness Book of World Records" as the youngest solo rapper to hit #1 on the U.S. charts.

Having recently turned 18, with several hit singles, platinum-plus albums, sold-out tours, starring roles in hit films, and a place in "The Guinness Book of World Records" already on his resume, Bow Wow continues to prove that he's the 100% real deal with the indisputable goods: a bona fide teen superstar blessed with burgeoning talent, tenacity, and a deep connection to his audience.

Michael Franti Hosts Power to the Peaceful Festival - Music, Community and Justice September 10

Free music/community/arts festival Power To The Peaceful, hosted by musician/activist Michael Franti to take place in San Francisco on September 10, 2005.

San Francisco (PRWEB) August 18, 2005 --- On Saturday, September 10th 2005, visionary musician, filmmaker and human rights worker, Michael Franti along with his band, Spearhead and Guerrilla Management present the 7th Annual 911 Power to the Peaceful Festival (PTTP) at Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.

Now in its seventh year, PTTP is an annual series of free, outdoor music and arts festivals with a social justice message bringing together international musicians, local artists and renowned speakers in a large festival atmosphere. The first festival drew over 6,000 people, but has expanded to be one of Californias largest festivals of its kind with over 50,000 attendees last year. This year, the San Francisco Mayors Office will proclaim September 10th Power to the Peaceful Day at the festival. This years theme, Bring Em Home, seeks to remind the public that the best way to support American troops abroad is to bring them home today.

Inspirational performances at PTTP have included such diverse speakers and artists including Amy Goodman, Dennis Kucinich, Alice Walker, Ram Das, Digital Underground, Talib Kweli, KRS-One, The String Cheese Incident, Lyrics Born, Me'Shell Ndegeocello, John Butler Trio, Krist Novoselic, and Jello Biafra. This years music line up includes Michael Franti and Spearhead, Jean Grae, Saul Williams, Anti-Flag, Zap Mamas Marie Daulne, J-Boogies Dubtronic Science and Glide Choir. Speakers include Angela Davis, Woody Harrelson, Robert Greenwald (filmmaker - Outfoxed, Wal-Mart), Rev. Cecil Williams (Glide Church), Paul Rieckhoff (, Tim Goodrich (Iraqi Vets Against The War), and DJ Miguel Migs.

New to the festival this year will be an ASEC (Action Sports Environmental Coalition) sponsored, ecologically forest stewardship certified wood built skate ramp featuring demos by pro-skater, Danny Way, who recently jumped the Great Wall of China, ESPN X-Games Medalists Jen OBrien, CaraBeth Burnside, Lyn-z Adams and Mimi Knoop. The ramp will be donated to a Bay Area city high school after the event.

As festival organizer and Spearhead frontman Michael Franti explains the history of the festival, As a brainstorm of LA-based organization, Artist Network of Refuse & Resist, Rage Against The Machine, artist Robbie Conal and Franti, the festival began in 1999 as an international day of art and culture with events in NYC, LA and San Francisco in support of political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal. The name and date 911 were chosen to call attention to the emergency status of Mumias impending execution. Inspired and wanting to continue the movement of music, art and social justice, Franti adopted the moniker 911 and expanded the event in 2000 to show support for all prisoners on death row and to speak out against the exponential growth of militarism and the prison industrial complex.

Noting the significance of more recent global political events, Franti says, In 2001 the day of September 11th took on a wider significance as a result of the tragic loss of life by the attacks of the day. The 4th and 5th events in 2002-2003 created a space for healing and compassion for ALL the people killed or displaced by terrorism and the war on terrorism and in 2004 PTTP brought out the issue of get out the vote and stand up and be counted."

In addition to the performers and speakers on the main stage, the festival features a zero-waste program using bio-diesel vegetable fuel for power, biodegradable flatware, water bottles and plates, recycle and composting bins, an open-air art gallery, earth-conscious vendors, massage and yoga, DJ dance floor, eco-village, kids zone, bike coalition and a diverse array of social, environmental and political organizations tabling.

For those unable to attend, the event will be broadcast live on Pacifica station, KPFA (94.1 FM in Berkeley or

The Conscious Alliance ( will be staging a food drive at this years event with proceeds benefiting the San Francisco Food Bank (

PTTP have expanded this year to include its 1st Annual International Film Festival, co-presented by Amnesty International at the Roxie Theater on Sept 12 and 13th with highlights including a clip of Robert Greenwalds upcoming release Wal-Mart and Michael Frantis film about his journey to Iraq, Palestine and Israel last year titled I Know Im Not Alone.

The weekend doesnt sleep with a festival after party and all-star jam and DJs on Saturday, September 10 from 10PM 4AM at 1015 Folsom. On Sunday, September 11th, a Franti hosted Social Justice Forum will take place at Cell Space on Bryant Street from 11am-5pm produced in conjunction with Craigslist Foundation, Next Generation of Activists, Global Exchange, Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Circle of Life Foundation and Agape. Lastly, there will be a Power To The Peaceful Yoga Workshop with Nicki Doane and Eddie Modestini ( at the Yoga Tree-Yoga Flow classroom in the Castro District (

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Tony Yayo will release "Thoughts Of A Predicate Felon" on August 30, 2005. This G-Unit general has bounced in and out of federal penitentiaries during G-Unit's ascension to the top of the rap game. His solo project is undoubtedly the most long coming and anxiously awaited release from G-Unit. Replete with brooding beats, courtesy of super-producers like Dr. Dre and Eminem and Havoc of Mobb Deep, "Thoughts" promises to be G-Unit's most street release.

"My album is fact no fiction," says the 26-year-old Yayo. "Most of the album was written in jail, that's why the street records are so aggressive."

In addition to the album, consumers who act fast will have a chance to score the next DVD in the G-Unit Collector's Edition series. This documentary delves into the real life of Tony Yayo displaying behind the scenes footage of his most exciting life encounters. DVD production is limited to the first two hundred thousand copies.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Music fans attending AmsterJam, Heineken's inaugural day-long "mash-up" music festival taking place this weekend -- Saturday, August 20th -- on New York City's Randall's Island, can look forward to more than just stellar collaborations and performances from top artists such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snoop Dogg. Heineken will also offer an eclectic onsite village called the Green Light District, where fans can find a lounge area hosted by MSN Music, an additional stage featuring both established and emerging bands, an environmental green zone, plus a number of performance and installation artists, all of which will enhance the concertgoer's experience and further the festival's message of diversity and community

AmsterJam's Interactive Music Lounge sponsored by MSN Music will feature a variety of mashing-themed interactive experiences. Concertgoers can visit the lounge to relax, hear a guest DJ create on-the-spot mash-ups, or create their own mash-ups at computer stations throughout the tent. Fans will also be able to download tracks from AmsterJam's performing artists, which can be burned directly onto mini-disks available at the MSN Music Lounge while supplies last, or special AmsterJam memory flash sticks, one of many potential prizes available to those who participate in AmsterJam's unique text message program.

The "AmsterJam Insider" text message program allows attending fans special access to information, prizes and experiences throughout the festival. On the day of the show, signage will be posted throughout the festival area and inside the AmsterJam Insider tent with instructions on how to register. Throughout the festival, AmsterJam Insider participants will receive special show highlight information, and will be eligible to win prizes such as the limited edition memory flash sticks, seating upgrades, impromptu backstage tours, AmsterJam t-shirts and more by sending a keyword to a specified shortcode.

Complementing the main stage performers, which include The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snoop Dogg, 311, Wyclef, Garbage, Fat Joe, Hector El Bambino and Peaches, the AmsterJam Green Light District will also feature the Green Light District stage, a second performance area spotlighting emerging and established artists from New York and Los Angeles. Artists playing on the Green Light District Stage include Antibalas, the Brought Low, Fishbone, The Giraffes, Gogol Bordello, DJ Grandmaster Flash, Something For Rockets, Yerba Buena and Vic Thrill & The Saturn Missile.

The Green Light District will also feature performance and installation artists such as aerial dance troupe the Lisa Giobbi Movement Theatre, artist Drizzle, Latin American t-shirt designer Cacho who will make one-of-a-kind wearable souvenirs on demand and recycled materials guru Neil Benson from the salvage artist group Dumpster Divers. In addition, the Green Light District will offer artist merchandise boutiques, an AmsterJam themed mural created especially for the festival by Bronx-based muralist collective Tats Cru, plus an international food court and beer garden and unique wares for sale.

In the spirit of community, Heineken has also formed a partnership with Riverkeeper, Inc., an independent, member-supported environmental organization whose mission is to safeguard the ecological integrity of the Hudson River, its tributaries and the watershed of New York City. Riverkeeper will provide all on-sale water from Keeper Springs, a member of the Waterkeeper Alliance. All profits from the water sales at AmsterJam will go towards Riverkeeper to support their mission in keeping New York's water safe and clean. In addition to selling water throughout the festival, Riverkeeper will present The Green Zone inside AmsterJam's Green Light District. The Green Zone will offer concert-goers an opportunity to participate in a series of interactive displays provided by green-friendly groups and alternative energy companies from the New York area, all designed to raise awareness on key environmental issues.

All in all, AmsterJam's Green Light District promises to elevate this one- of-a-kind festival from a concert to a full scale lifestyle experience. "AmsterJam is designed to be much more than a concert," says Heineken Brand Director Andy Glaser. "Our goal with AmsterJam is to break down the boundaries that typically exist in music and the arts by blending various artistic styles, genres and cultures together in a day-long celebration. AmsterJam really will have something for everyone."

Hometown Rapper Added to Bone Thugs N Harmony Tour

Hometown Rap artist Armagideon has been added to the Free Love- Stop The Violence Back To School Tour starring Bone Thugs n Harmony Saturday September 3, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin @ US Cellular Arena Showtime is 7:30 pm.

The Free Love- Stop The Violence Back To School Tour is a three day tour bringing together the communities of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Peoria, Illinois to start the new school year off with a positive event including contemporary urban music, spoken word poetry and inspirational speakers. The aim of the concert is to bring the communities and the youth together to promote peace in the streets.

Armagideon, local underground emcee, filmmaker, and activist, began his musical journey on his front porch writing rhymes and break dancing at the tender age of twelve. The 25-year-old emcee has opened for Erykah Badu, Black Eyed Peas, Whodini, KRS One, Dead Prez and Common Sense. The filmmaker has created short ethnographic documentaries in Cuba, Peru and Jamaica. In addition, he has directed and produced a documentary honoring the Milwaukee hip hop scene. The activist has organized several initiatives in Milwaukee's inner city along with voter registration efforts in St. Louis.

Now Armagideon has been given chance at a true taste of the hip hop industry as he prepares to go on tour with his longtime favorite rap group, Bone Thugs N Harmony. In a recent article Armagideon was asked about his desire for main stream crossover success and he replied. "Paid or not, if you catch me performing or recording it's for the love. I make music for my people's stories to be told, not fame or mainstream crossover appeal. If an artist takes his passion for hip-hop serious he will grasp the business aspect as well as the creative process. Balancing the two is the gift and curse of a serious underground emcee."

"Amagideon pushes messages of empowerment, endurance and radical change."
The tour starts in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Friday September 2 @ the Deltaplex Showtime is 7:30 pm, Saturday September 3, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin @ US Cellular Arena Showtime is 7:30 pm and Sunday September 4, in Peoria, Illinois @ Peoria Stadium Showtime is 7 pm.

Music Plus TV's Hip Hop Show Will Host Blood of Abraham on Live Broadcast

LOS ANGELES, CAMusic Plus TV video jockeys Khalel Bishop and Nan Khan will host their hip hop show Urban Rootz this Friday with a little more political and social consciousness than usual. Benyad and Mazik of Blood of Abraham, a politically edgy hip hop duo from LA, is scheduled to appear on their show for a guest interview and performance.

"We want to spark awareness in people, about where they live and whats going on," said Benyad of their music.

While it remains to be seen what type ofawareness Blood of Abraham will raise for Music Plus TV viewers, the duo maintains a concern for the general lack of consciousness in hip hop, and has covered issues in their music and past interviews ranging from overconsumerism in capitalist societies to mutual regard for different cultures and religions. They cite pre-Christian world history, Egyptology, and filmmaker Stanley Kubrick as some of their major influences.

Urban Rootz is on Music Plus TVs live Internet TV channel weekdays at 6 p.m. Pacific Time. Blood of Abraham will appear on the show this Friday, August 19th.

He showcased his talents in such movies as "House Party" and "House Party 2," "Boomerang," "A Thin Line Between Love and Hate," "Bad Boys" and "Bad Boys II," "Big Momma's House" and "Blue Streak," and who can forget his stand-up performances in "You So Crazy," "Runteldat" and while hosting Russell Simmons' "Def Comedy Jam."

The Platinum Mic Stand-Up Award recognizes a stand-up comedian featured on the network who has enjoyed break-out success this year and will be decided by BET viewers. As "virtual" members of the BET COMEDY AWARDS voting academy, fans will log onto to cast their votes for their favorite comic. Kicking off today with the unveiling of the nominees, the poll will continue through September 24 and continues during the course of the telecast. Viewers can tune in to the ceremony to see if their chosen comic takes home the statue, and also check out other interactive features.

Comedy fans can get the full frontal impact of every punch line by attending the ceremony. Tickets are on sale now through all Ticketmaster outlets, online at or at the Pasadena Civic Center box office. BET COMEDY AWARDS ticket prices range from $25 - $50.

BET has teamed again with Cossette Productions, famed producers of the GRAMMY Awards (R) and the past five record-setting BET AWARDS shows, to handle production of the telecast. This year's BET AWARDS telecast delivered 5.6 million viewers nationwide, distinguished as the most-watched entertainment special in BET's 25-year history. Following the success of the inaugural BET COMEDY AWARDS telecast last year, which delivered a 1.7 rating (1.9 million viewers; 1.3 million households), all indicators predict another unprecedented success. Additional announcements regarding more celebrity performers and presenters will be issued as part of an ongoing series of awards-related announcements leading up to the September 25 taping.

Kanye West Meets The Beach Boys

"I think we are at the lowest point we have been in the history of [music] in rap music. It all adds up to one big minus," said Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys.

(PRWEB) August 17, 2005 -- New York Em-cee/Producer Lushlife reworks The Beach Boys 'Pet Sounds' with acapellas and instrumentals from Kanye West's 'The College Dropout' and forthcoming album 'Late Registration.'

This is a long way from your average quick cut & paste/mash-up effort, with additional live instrumentation and extra verses from Lushlife himself.

Legendary MC O.C. Signs With Indie Hip-Hop Powerhouse Hiero Imperium and Set To Release Album in November

Former D.I.T.C member O.C. recently signed with indie hip-hop conglomerate Hiero Imperium and will release his fifth solo album entitled Smoke & Mirrors on November 1, 2005.

(PRWEB) August 17, 2005 -- When people talk about MC's who are under-appreciated, O.C.'s name is always mentioned. His history of under-promoted albums and music industry drama has plagued him throughout his career. Despite releasing four critically acclaimed solo releases and having tracks on a dozen movie soundtracks, O.C. has remained largely unnoticed by the masses. Armed with Smoke & Mirrors and backed by one of the most espected independent hip-hop labels, Hiero Imperium, "King of the Underground" O.C. is ready to finally get the recognition he deserves.

O.C. is excited about his new venture with Hiero. For the first time in his career, he has been given full control over the artistry of his music. Says O.C., "Knowing my history and work ethic Hiero said to me, 'We don't have to babysit you, just do your thing.' Now, how many labels do you know of that say that to their artists?" What drew O.C. to the label was not only their mutual respect for each other but also the fact that Hiero took control of their destiny after getting fed up with dealing with other labels. Explains O.C., "The cats from Hiero experienced the same music industry bulllsh*t as me. They were smart and established their own company back in the mid 90's and have been steadily growing ever since. I think part of the reason for their success is their egalitarian attitude. With Hiero, I'm treated more like a partner than just an artist." O.C. is the first East Coast artist to be affiliated with the label since it was established in 1997.

Smoke & Mirrors is a concept album based on themes of contradiction and hypocrisy that run rampant in the entertainment industry as seen through O.C.'s eyes. This album is another instant classic for the famed "King of the Underground." Smoke & Mirrors will be available for purchase on November 1st on Hiero Imperium.

The Orchard Launches Innovative New Label-Owned Store Offering

World's Largest and Leading Marketer and Distributor of Digital Music Now Enables Artists & Labels to 'Sell Direct' to Their Fans

- First of The Orchard's Label Stores to Open Today -

NEW YORK and LONDON, Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The Orchard, the world's leading distributor and marketer of independent music, today announced an innovative new digital retail option for The Orchard's label and artist clients.

Now, in addition to supplying music to the leading digital music services around the globe, The Orchard will create independent digital stores for its record label clients. The new service offering offers a robust, turnkey digital retail store solution with no upfront build-out costs to labels. Artists and labels can choose to sell their music in MP3, WMA or AAC formats; in US Dollars, British Pounds Sterling, or Euros; and consumers in the UK can even pay by SMS. Artists and labels set the retail price and have the option of merchandising the store themselves, or having it managed by The Orchard's merchandising team at no extra cost. Payments are fully integrated into The Orchard's industry-leading web-based online accounting system.

The first of The Orchard label stores open today and include a combination of leading labels and hot independent artists:

Crash Records

Amulet Records

Blazin' Squad

The Orchard will launch more stores in the coming weeks from labels including Lookout! Records, Aquarian Nation, Alliant Music Group, French Kiss and others.

"In this rapidly changing digital landscape, investing in innovation is key. Through our new label-owned store offering, we are offering our artists and labels yet another creative way to get their music to the people who want it," said Greg Scholl, chief executive of The Orchard and managing director of Dimensional Associates, the company that owns The Orchard, eMusic and Dimensional Music Publishing. "Until now, there has been no streamlined, cost-efficient way for an independent labels and artists to open their own digital music stores. Our new sales solution empowers labels and artists to take even more control over pricing, merchandising and how their music is sold. We expect our label partners to embrace this option, which further reinforces The Orchard's mission of creating new markets and marketing methods for independent music and the people who create it."

Amulet Records' Billy Martin (also of Medeski, Martin and Wood) enthused, "We have an active and devoted fan base for our label's music so we're excited to be able to sell them directly. It solidifies our bond with fans, and also delivers higher profits for us. And The Orchard has made it simple to do; they already distribute our music to the major digital music stores, so we just said 'go' and a few short weeks later our download store has launched."

"The Orchard is always ten steps ahead in this digital music game," said Chuck D, of hip-hop stalwarts Public Enemy, and who now runs SLAMjamz. "Other distributors just get you into traditional digital retail outlets. The Orchard certainly does all that, but they also are always thinking about creative marketing ideas that will help their labels sell more music and also connect directly with consumers."

B-C has released Holy Hip Hop album: My Testimony on U.G.E.

(PRWEB) August 16, 2005 -- B-C has released his debut studio album 'My Testimony' on U.G.E. on June 26, 2005.

The autobiographical 'My Testimony' recounts the spiritual quest of the gospel rapper rise from failure to victory.

Special guests include A-1, John Barnes, and Kendra.

Spirituality has always been an inspiration for me, and the personal experiences of growing up in low income housing and opening up for Fred Hammond has led to the creation of the autobiographical CD 'My Testimony.' This stunning cd, traces B-C's life and his ultimate embrace of Christianity. It was released on June 26, 2005, on U.G.E.

B-C's thirst for a closer relationship with God and the search for something infinite and greater than ourselves led to his Christian faith. How he discovered and embraced that faith is the thematic basis for 'My Testimony.' The songs tell the story of how he left failure and took a long journey that led him that salvation.

"I feel'My Testimony' is for both non-Christians and Christians. But, perhaps even more for people who aren't acquainted with Christ. It's not a praise and worship album by any means. I\'m not using 'My Testimony' to preach and the album doesn't tell people what to do. It tells what happened to me personally, as if I was giving my testimony in church at: it's just a bit longer!" says B-C.

Musically speaking,'Testimony' is a richly textured album with elements of everything from Hip Hip-styled to progressive R&B elements.

The songs on 'My Testimony' include: "My Testimony," "Stand Back," "Thorns," "Make It Rain," "Backslider," "Question," "Reason," "My Wife," "If," "When The Spirit,"

B-C wrote'My Testimony' while he was homeless and living place to place in Baton Rouge, La. A-1 produced and mix My Testimony.

In 1997, after writing and recording a song with the Abundant Life Choir in Newport News, VA, and touring with the Friends And Unity Choir he left the group. The timing could not have been stranger, So, at the start of his success, B-C moved from Hampton, VA, to Baton Rouge LA, for the reason as "feeling called by God to do something in a new place." He adds, "It was a totally spiritual decision. I wasn't sure where the Lord was taking me, but I just knew I had to trust him and step out in faith."

"Suddenly, I had a flood of ideas that led to the 'My Testimony' concept and I knew it was the Lord inspiring me. Almost everything was newly written except for 'Question,' which was an idea I had during my time with the 'Abundant Life Choir'period."

B-C began an incredibly prolific writing and recording regimen. He started working on 'My Testimony' in October 2002 and finished in December 2004, the right pace for a project of this magnitude and complexity.

As for the reaction B-C expects to get from both the progressive hip hop and contemporary Gospel music worlds, he has no idea. Nor any expectations. "The response will probably run the gamut. Some will love it and some will hate it. It needs to find its own place out there. It's a totally unique album in that it's a progressive hip hop epic with a Christian message, which to my knowledge has never been done before, so it'll need to find it's own unique audience," he says.

Touring is planned to promote'My Testimony.' B-C is planning to play shows at smaller venues.

"It was a very joyous time for me making 'My Testimony.' I'm so thrilled. I feel the Lord blessed the album," says B-C. "It's a wonderful thing."

'My Testimony' is available for download online at, and hard copies are available at

The Worlds Best Stencil Graffiti Scene: Melbourne, Australia

Stencil Graffiti Capital: Melbourne
For more information:

The stenciled image of the squatting man holding a
sign that reads: "Keep your coins, I WANT CHANGE,"
speaks directly to the surge in street art across the
globe. In a time when large institutions get larger
and often hem in the ability for individuals to get
their voices heard, the streets serve as canvases that
anyone with some paint and a message can access. The
advantage of stencil graffiti over freehand graffiti
is the ability to conceive, design and cut stencils in
private and in public quickly, concisely, and in many
instances, covertly apply the stencil to any flat

Melbourne, Australia, is a hotbed of stencil graffiti
and in Stencil Graffiti Capital: Melbourne, two of the
major players in the citys vibrant scene provide a
lavish visual tour of the alleyways, buildings and
sidewalks across which an artistic movement spreads.
More than just a catalog of Melbournes best stencils,
however, the authors use their street artist status to
interview important figures in the scene, many of whom
prefer to work behind veils of secrecy, about their
inspiration, motivation and techniques.

Extensive in terms of subject matter, the stencils in
this book deftly demonstrate the artists ability to
convey any range of emotion or message. From witty
turns of phrase, to intricately patterned logos, to
alluring vixens, to political messages, to the
down-right absurd, Stencil Graffiti Capital: Melbourne
documents the free-for-all of expression that runs
rampant through the city and makes apparent why the
movement has garnered attention not only from other
Australians but from street artists and popular
culture enthusiasts all over the world.

Melbournes Jake Smallman has worked as a graphic
designer in the United Kingdom and Australia. His
involvement and commitment to stencil graffiti has
earned him media attention and garnered him gallery
shows and commissions all over Australia and in the
United States.

Carl Nyman lives in Sweden where he works as a graphic
artist. His art has been featured in gallery shows in
Australia, Europe, Canada and the United States.

Philadelphia, Pa.-August 2005- Local Hip Hop and spoken word artist, Maj Toure, chooses to distribute his album, Solutionary, on SEPTAs Orange Line as a means of direct contact with his target audience. SEPTA, the sixth largest transit agency in the country, has about 1.9 million riders daily. The crowd is as diverse in age as it is in race, gender, and creed. Toure taps into the large ridershipwith his brand of self-coined solutionary musiceveryday from 7:30am to 3pm.

When questioned about the decision to sell music on the train, as opposed to with a major record label, Toure said, "I chose the trains because here I can address social issues directly without restriction and I can get the solutions immediately to the people who will benefit from it the most."

According to Toure, he began by selling The Black Star, a community issues newspaper, on the train in 2003, the papers readers became a following which helped with the idea of selling his CD underground. The subway system is now his citywide music distributor.

"My CD showcases the flow of Jay-Z, the poetry of Nas, all wrapped up in the social and political consciousness of Dead Prez," said Toure. "This music is for those elite few who choose to take their destiny into their own hands, those who respect independent thought, and wish to reclaim their rightful thrones. This music is only for those who wish to be... a Solutionary."

The album features a range of songs, from Never Forget and Changes, that highlight past, present, and future progress in the black community to Hurry Up & Buy and Willie Lynch which lightheartedly poke fun at the need for economic plans and preservation. As an advocate for, and member of the Hip Hop community, Toure also spreads his message of economic-stability, political-education, and social-awareness on the lecture circuit and at other speaking engagements.

August 15, 2005 - John D. Tucker, professionally known as "Dr. Teeth, " is still trippin' over the fact that the Mike Jones video "Still Tippin," which he directed, was recently nominated for the MTV Video Music Award in the MTV 2 category.

So far, 2005 has been a phenomenal year for Dr. Teeth who has become one of the most sought-after video directors in the hip-hop industry. With the Houston market burning up the hip hop charts, and three of his current videos in heavy rotation ("Trina F/ Lil' Wayne -"Don't Trip," Paul Wall - "Sittin' Sideways, " Mike Jones "Still Tippin"). Dr. Teeth's name continues to remain on the tip of industry insider's tongues. Most recently Dr. Teeth just completed directing for new comers Warner Brothers artist Cruna and Tango Redd featuring Lyold from The Inc.

Dr. Teeth formed a partnership with The Filming Company, a boutique motion picture company, which includes executive producers Tracey Hicks and Keith Pashall in association with Phoenix Entertainment. "There was a need to create an artistic venue for artists such as Dr. Teeth. The Filming Company, which was established in 2001, specializes in creating visuals for music videos, commercials and documentaries, and we pride ourselves in our professionalism and quality work," says Tracey Hicks. "It takes hard work and a great team to build what we have here. What you see is a combination of many different talents," adds Dr. Teeth. We are tremendously excited about Mike Jones video, receiving a nomination for MTV VMA's.

The upcoming video shoots are very promising for Dr. Teeth. The artist line up for the month of August includes: Slim Thug, August 16-17, Paul Wall August 22. Crime Mob on August 30-31.

About Dr. Teeth:
John Tucker's career extends far beyond the video, film and television commercials mediums. He has worked alongside such world renowned film and video directors as Brett Ratner, director of "Money Talks" "Rush Hour 1&2" (video for the feature film "My Vida Loca"); Bille Woodruff (videos for Toni Braxton, Kelly Price, Brian McKnight and Cash Money Millionaires) and Doug McHenry and the late George Jackson (second unit for "Jason's Lyric" starring Jada Pinkett Smith and Alan Payne). In addition, he has worked on other Houston-based film productions ("Tin Cup" starring Kevin Costner and Cheech Marion) and co-wrote and directed his own film, "21 Crunk Street."

Moreover, Tucker has been affiliated with the CBS and BET networks. During his stint at BET Tucker and his team of producers won the NAACP Image Award for Best Children's Programming for their work on the then hit teen show "Teen Summit." Tucker was also instrumental in redeveloping BET's "Rap City" into "Rap City Tha Bassment," where he worked closely with Music program head Steven Hill and Senior Producer Craig Henry. Tha Bassment, which is the show all rap artists look forward to appearing on, was where Dr. Teeth created the now infamous booth that every hot Emcee in the business has entered. In addition for his phenomenal contributions at BET, Tucker also founded a non-profit organization J.D. Tucker Foundation, which provides scholarship opportunities and advance study in communication at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Cuban Link Returns from Hip-Hop Exile to Set the Record Straight!

Cuban's Much-Anticipated Debut Album Chain Reaction Releases on August 16th

The Roof-Raising Reggaeton Single ''Scandalous'' Featuring Don Omar Charts on Billboard's ''Hot Latin'' Chart

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 15, 2005
With 9 million this week in audience and 75 million to date listening to Cuban Link's 1st single "Scandalous," featuring Don Omar, it's clear that the Cuban-born rapper Cuban Link has the ear of the people once again. Far removed from the controversy that stymied his burgeoning career in 2000, the Bronx-bred MC is set to release his long overdue debut Chain Reaction. This 16-track opus comes out blazing at the competition and naysayers. "They doubted, they tried to hold me back, but I'm still here and my CD is coming out this week," says an ecstatic Cuban Link. "The most important thing to me right now is releasing this record, when the odds were against me, we got it done."

Critics are already raving about the release. VIBE Magazine declares, "Cuban Link shines with introspection on his first solo release." XXL Magazine echoes those sentiments, "Cuban establishes himself as a credible MC on Chain Reaction. Crafting both street songs and radio cuts, Cuban Link proves that his long, hard-fought journey was not traveled in vain." And Latina Magazine has nothing but appreciation for his musical odyssey. "When you check out his debut'll realize what you've been missing all this time." Armed with an album that Don Diva Magazine calls "ultimately triumphant;" Cuban has critics retracting his musical obituary and fans pining for that missing Link in hip-hop.

Only someone built like Cuban Link could bounce back from such harsh adversity. Left for dead by the industry and long forgotten by the public, Cuban crashed the party with the street but sweet single "Sugar Daddy" featuring Mya. The infectious tune was a treat for listeners who now welcome back the once blacklisted rapper with open arms. The NY Post and AOL quickly spreads the word with glowing features on the MC many consider the heir apparent to Big Pun's title as the best Latin MC ever. To carry on the legacy his late friend left behind would be a great honor for Cuban. And with the rise of the reggaeton genre the salacious single "Scandalous" makes him a double threat--a powerful player in both markets. BET's Uncut and MTV2's new reggae and reggaeton show Rhythm and Reggaeton have started playing the "Scandalous" video.

Backed by M.O.B Records with distribution through Fontana, Cuban's Chain Reaction features production from Swizz Beatz who produced several cuts and guest appearances by the before mentioned Mya and Don Omar, but also support from Jada Kiss, Sylenna Johnson, and Avant.

Even though he doesn't have much time to enjoy the fruits of his labor as tour dates are rapidly approaching (more information to come) Cuban will find a moment to celebrate his victory at various album release parties:

NEW YORK, NY, Wednesday, August 17, 2005 -- Alvito Hodge... remember that name. He may be the person that brings the rap underground to light. Hes the Founder/CEO of Music Unlimited Records. His label is a unique one that concentrates its efforts solely on underground music. Music Unlimited presents unsigned artists to the public. You may not know their names now, but you will soon enough. We call them Tomorrows Superstars Today.

Mr. Hodge has put together a compilation album series for unsigned artists titled American Street Dreams to be released Fall 2005. This series is one of a kind being that no artists are signed to Music Unlimited and its distributed through The Orchard, Inc. The Orchard is the leading digital distributor of independent music. The CD is a promotional tool that connects artists with fans to let them know whos hot and who has next.

American Street Dreams consist of a fresh look at rap. Its a fresh sound that is truly music to your ears. Eighteen tracks of hot beats, smooth flow and perfectly timed delivery. Youll ask yourself, why havent I heard these artists before? Well, its because the music industry, for new artists, is more twisted now than ever.

Corporate America has taken control of the streets art form and made it its own. They have imposed a glass ceiling on the game. A few artists are chosen to sit on top of the game and no one else is allowed to be promoted upward unless the major labels and their backers approve. But the glass ceiling may not be thick enough to contain the line-up of artists on the Music Unlimited debut album. Youll want to compare them to mainstream artists, but youll only do an injustice to yourself. These artists stand on the merits of their talent and nothing else.

When did corporations decide that rap was no longer a fad? When did we let them become the gatekeepers of the Hip Hop culture? If rap is a sport where is the opportunity for the rookies to shine? Music Unlimited Records is needed in this game.

Press Release -- (ArriveNet - Aug 13, 2005) --Alive theorist of the late great hip-hop rap icon Tupac Shakur have been adding numbers to get their 7s and have been dissecting every word ever recorded by Tupac Shakur ever since his death in 1996. There are many who feel the late hip-hop rap icon is still with us; in the physical form.

Drah Cenedive, lead author of 2Pac Lives, has given his permission for an exclusive interview with regarding the Hard Evidence Research Group & Publishing book titled: 2Pac Lives The Death of Makaveli / The Resurrection of Tupac Amaru (Volume 1).

The interview covers the Hard Evidence Group; who they are and their other projects.

This highly anticipated interview has been sought by many sources, but thanks to the Hard Evidence Group and especially Drah Cenedive, has acquired exclusive rights to be the first to talk to them about this very controversial book.

By most accounts, Tupac Shakur was murdered in Las Vegas in 1996 while riding in a vehicle with Death Row Records CEO and friend Marion Suge Knight.

Many theories and thoughts have been published about that night and the events surrounding the murder of the legendary Tupac Shakur. This book is not the ordinary theory book on the death of the legendary Tupac Shakur. 2Pac Lives The Death of Makaveli / The Resurrection of Tupac Amaru (Volume 1) is a book, that if read with an open mind, presents things for the reader to think about.

Many have read this book with an open mind and have walked away with their own doubts if the west coast legend is truly dead or not.

According to Drah Cenedive There has only been 144,000 of the books printed and when they are gone that will be all there are.

The interview can be seen on the website.

This is a 2 Part interview. Part 2 will be posted on Saturday August 20th.

London -- (ArriveNet - Aug 13, 2005) --Lil Eazy-E, the son of the late Eric Eazy-E Wright gives his first UK online interview to Write On Point. In this exclusive interview he discusses the pressures that come with being the son of Hip Hop royalty, his hopes to one day own his fathers label, Ruthless Records, and his up and coming debut album The Prince Of Compton.

Some may think that being the son of the man who helped bring gangsta rap to the forefront in the late 1980s, would open numerous doors when embarking on a successful rap career. But this hasnt necessarily been the case. When asked whether he found it easier to break in to the music industry due to his bloodline, Lil Eazy says its been harder, my father didn't have it easy, and neither have I. I have the weight of a legend to carry, but Im confident that I will be successful in carrying on his legacy.

With the up coming release of his debut album The Prince Of Compton, which boasts production from Dr Dre, DJ Quik, and Sha Money XL, his own company, Kings Of LA, and hopes of one day purchasing his fathers label, Ruthless Records, Lil Eazy has already started the ball rolling of successfully continuing Eazy-Es legacy for many years to come.

WASHINGTON, Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- XM Satellite Radio, the nation's leading satellite radio company with more than 4.4 million subscribers, today announced that its Latin music hits channel Alegria (XM channel 90) will focus on Reggaeton, the hugely popular Latin Hip Hop music genre.

(Logo: )

Reggaeton music will now make up the majority of the tracks played on the Alegria channel. Like all XM music channels, Alegria is commercial-free. The channel is produced by XM's award-winning programming staff. New programs on Alegria include an exclusive audio version of IMF: The International Music Feed's Reggaeton program "IMF Bodega Beats," which is hosted by Hip Hop star B-Real of Cypress Hill.

"XM has a very strong commitment to Latin music, so it makes sense for us to focus one of our channels on Reggaeton," said Eric Logan, Executive Vice President of Programming, XM Satellite Radio. "Reggaeton is incredibly popular, yet it doesn't get as much exposure in the U.S. as it deserves. Part of our mission at XM is to deliver the greatest variety of music to people from coast to coast, and we saw a real need to expand the Reggaeton music on XM to become the primary format of our Alegria channel."

"We are very excited to work with XM to bring the fast-growing Reggaeton music genre to millions of people across the United States," said Andy Schuon, President & CEO of the 24-hour music television channel IMF. "Basketball and hip-hop culture have always been connected at the street level, so we wanted to ensure that NBA 2K6's vibe is as authentic as the gameplay," said Tim Rosa, director of marketing and promotions for 2K Sports. "By featuring exclusive original tracks, accompanied by both a tour and the ability to play as select musicians in the game, our pioneering approach to music integration marks a turning point in what is possible in the video game industry."

One of NBA 2K6's most distinctive features is the soundtrack. While having a custom song in a game is nothing new, NBA 2K6's soundtrack boasts 14 original tracks created exclusively for the game by luminaries of hip-hop culture, such as The Roots, Common, RJD2, Jean Grae, Aceyalone, Aesop Rock, Lyrics Born, Zion I, Hieroglyphics and more. In addition to appearing in the game, these songs will be released by Decon Records on a compilation CD entitled "The Tracks."

Taking the music integration element up a notch beyond the soundtrack is having select-featured artists, in tandem with other renowned hip-hop groups, playable in the first ever video game simulation of The Entertainer's Basketball Classic (EBC) at Rucker Park. Celebrity hip-hop talent are Method Man, Redman, Flava Flav, ?uestlove from The Roots, Common, and Aesop Rock, among others will contribute to this dynamic feature.

Rounding out the music integration campaign, will be the nationwide "2K Sports Bounce Tour" in promotional support of the game and its soundtrack. The tour, which is being headlined by The Roots and underground icons such as RJD2 and Aceyalone, is traveling to more than 30 top markets this fall. This is the first in a series of annual live events that bridge hip-hop, sports and video game culture by featuring renowned music artists, sports gaming kiosks, projection vignettes and celebrity and professional athlete appearances.

The 2K series of simulated sports games are produced by Visual Concepts, a Take-Two studio.

Popular LA Hip Hop artist Cleva taps his jazz, classical, and Flamenco training

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 14, 2005 -- If Hip Hop gets a bad rap it's because the genre remains largely within the narrow confines of its original definitions.

Along comes Cleva (, a musician, composer, producer, and arranger who draws on his unconventional musical training to cultivate Hip Hop with licks borrowed from jazz, classical and Flamenco all while remaining firmly planted on Hip Hop's soil.

Cleva's new album, The Game of Life, is 16 tracks of Hip Hop performed with uncompromising originality the usual driving funk accompanied by subtle lyrics and original arrangements that draw on surprising musical styles.

I truly hate it when I hear people say Hip Hop is not music. That's what I want to change. I want people to have a musical experience either through the instrumentation or harmonies that they haven't had with Hip Hop before, says the 26-year-old singer who composed, arranged, and produced the album as well.

And it's not just the music that explores new territories; it's the lyrics as well gritty yet positive, unflinching yet hopeful. I was raised in neighborhoods that invested everything in gang violence. While that's true of most rappers, they rap their experience; I rap what I've learned from my experience.

Cleva began developing his gift in music at the early age of five years old, training in classical piano for three years before moving on to guitar. At 12, Cleva began developing as a lyricist, heavily influenced by Dr. Dre, Dj Quik, Tupac, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, Ant Banks, Notorious Big, and Outkast just to name a few.

At 16, Cleva began to hang out in different studios and became a student in the art of production. He fell in love with composing tracks but realized that one of the weaknesses in the game was the lack of musical originality. So he refused to sample any compositions and decided to write everything himself.

At 18 he returned to his musical roots with intense training for three years in jazz theory on both piano and guitar.

There's a rare maturity found on The Game of Life. It's the maturity of an accomplished artist, yes, but also the maturity of a genre on its way to growing up.

Witness the Birth of a New Dance Style: Krump

Become a Krump King With Ardustry Home Entertainment's Upcoming Release of "KRUMP 1.0," "KRUMP 2.0" and "BREAKIN VS KRUMPIN"

WOODLAND HILLS, CA -- (Market Wire - Aug 12, 2005) - The hottest dance craze to hit the streets is coming to DVD courtesy of Ardustry Home Entertainment. A form of self expression, Krumping is a style of dance that originated in the African-American community of South Central Los Angeles. Ardustry Home Entertainment will release three DVDs on August 16th that will give the Krump fan a peek into the world of Krumping, a place where only the strongest dancers can compete. "KRUMP 1.0" and "KRUMP 2.0" are instructional videos that give the viewer an opportunity to learn the frenetic moves born on the streets of South LA. "BREAKIN VS KRUMPIN" is the ultimate dance battle captured for the first time on DVD. The DVDs will all carry the SRP of $14.98.

With limbs flailing and bodies shaking, Krump's dance style is fast and aggressive. The dancers usually perform in competition with other crews. Oftentimes there is physical contact, which can look like a fight to outsiders, but it is merely how the dancers communicate. Krumping is an improvised variety of hip-hop dance and has become a positive outlet for anger and aggression and a workable alternative to gangs. Krump Kings Inc, creators of the series, is a company dedicated to urban culture. Seeking talent in its raw state, as found on the streets everyday, is more entertaining, inspiring and fascinating than the stigmatic violent urban culture that has been portrayed in the media. Through the production of these DVDs they have encountered incredible singers and dancers whose work has changed the music and dance scene, but who never received any recognition.

Ardustry Home Entertainment will release the first three DVDs of the series, with more releases planned in the coming year. The releases are sold individually as: "KRUMP 1.0," an introduction to Krumping, "KRUMP 2.0," advanced Krumping, and a special DVD titled "BREAKIN VS. KRUMPIN," which features some of the best dancers from both worlds.

Krump Kings Inc

"A grimy street image presented with class, a ruff ghetto visual that looks clean, a difficult life that is full of inspiration... " That short statement accurately describes Krump Kings. Krump Kings prove that there can be drama without guns and comedy without putting others down. Urban culture has been wrongly defined as only violence and profanity. Krump Kings breaks this myth, allowing all to express their true feelings through movement while entertaining and inspiring others. Enter the world of Krump Kings by visiting

Tommy Danger The Now & Laterman -The Greatest of the Great hosted by DJ Left

Release CD/DVD ON 9/6/05

NEW YORK(PRWEB) August 13, 2005 -- Harlem and the Bronx is what we call the birth of hip hop and now it meets the birth of worldwide style. With a hot new video directed by Zaire and the overwhelming success on the public access show Danger Vision, it is clear that Tommy Danger is the one to watch out for.

With 12,000 CD's and counting, and 10 million emcees coming out of New York State with platinum dreams, one may wonder what makes one MC stand out from the rest. This question was answered in an interview with Grace Brown, manager and VP of Tommy Danger Music Group Inc.

GB: What makes this CD different from the last 6 volumes of the Now and Laterman series.
TD: "A lot of people have heard and seen me on various web sites and see my street grind, but still don't recognize me as a Hip Hop Artist. I basically went to DJ Left who I respect very much although we differ in opinions a lot to compile some of the freestyles that I have done to date with and some unreleased tracks. On this cd I want listeners to hear the style that makes me unique. I have been called old school, abstract, and commercial. Usually I zone out for a few months and do a project with no boundaries. This time DJ Left set the pace.

GB: So what are you bringing to the game?
TD: A Journey. I want listeners to challenge themselves to hear Hip Hop that's not single dimensional. A have been turned down from a lot of labels because they say my music has no focus. I do it from my heart and express what's going with and around me. Each CD has been an evolution. One has not been like the other. They show growth whether it is lyrically, technically, or artwork. I always give my fans something to watch and listen to. I was always told that if there is something in life that you want but don't see it, create it. I strongly believe that I have done that for hip hop. Life is life, we all experience it. But how we express it is different. That's what I do express from Tommy's view.

GB: Ultimately with that approach you may limit your opportunities.
TB: That's the greatest part about being independent. I am the consumer first. I have to test it, break it, and re-create it. If I don't have passion in it then I don't want to be apart of it no matter how much money. Unless of course it's a couple of Million to ease the pain.

GB: So what's next?
TB: The game constantly changes. Everything is visual now. So I shot the video "Gang Bang" Directed by Zaire "The Visualizer Extraordinaire" We constantly look to push the envelope. The video has the feel of a young hungry Hype Williams. The track produced by DJ Left has a drum on the MPC ready to peak red. Automatic banger for the ride, Ipod, club and TV.

GB: So what else is next?
TB: Some people may be surprised but the Now & Laterman will be put to rest. The series will be completed with the Mystery Flavor. Collect all the volumes while you can. Tommy Danger is the focus now. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me from the first 120 CD's pressed in my crib. Big things are about to happen so stay tuned!

FIELD MOB Joins Ludacris' Disturbing Tha Peace Label

And Readies the Release of Their 3rd CD, Light Poles and Pine Trees in November 2005

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Ludacris' Disturbing Tha Peace label is proud to announce the signing of FIELD MOB, one of the pioneering groups of the current Southern Hip-Hop explosion. And the timing couldn't be more perfect: The Albany, Georgia natives' third release, Light Poles and Pine Trees, is scheduled to hit the street November 2005 on Disturbing Tha Peace/Geffen Records. Powered by a handful of heavyweights, including Bun B, Bone Crusher, Jazze Pha, Bobby Valentino and DTP leader Ludacris, Light Poles and Pine Trees serves up more of the ghetto tales and good times FIELD MOB is best known for. Co-CEO of Disturbing Tha Peace, Chaka Zulu, insists "Shawn Jay and Smoke are two of the top ten lyrical MCs in the South. Field Mob being added to DTP strengthens our movement and makes us untouchable."

FIELD MOB's Smoke and Shawn Jay, formerly Boondox and Kalage, have always thought three was a charm. Now they're banking on it with the release of their 3rd CD. It should come as no surprise that their CD is stacked with so many celebs. Their debut, 613: From Ashy to Classy was hailed by hip-hop critics as one of the best albums of 2001. The follow-up, From Tha Roota To Tha Toota, which includes the breakout hit "Sick of Being Lonely," struck a chord with hip-hop heads from the east to the west and all in between.

Currently, FIELD MOB's underground classic, "Georgia," is creating a buzz at radio comparable to the din of a million gnats in your ear. "Georgia," powered by the hook from another great Georgia native, Ray Charles, is a historical collaboration with their new label head, Ludacris. The first official single, "Friday Night," is a swirling, funky roller skating jam crafted by one of their main beat-makers, Kenjo. After producing Field Mob's 2002 hit "Sick of Being Lonely," Jazze Pha returns to bless the duo with their second single "So What," including Crunk/R&B Princess Ciara. Other highlights include "D.U.I." featuring Bun B, "Deep Tonight" with ATL's Bone Crusher, and Bobby Valentino smoothing things out on "Sorry Baby."

If you're already familiar with FIELD MOB, or just getting to know them, you'll quickly understand their choice for album title. "The name of the album is Light Poles and Pine Trees because there ain't no skyline where we're from," explains Shawn Jay. "There's no arch like in St. Louis or palm trees like California," continues Smoke aka Chevy Pendagrass. "You look up and that's what you see in Albany."

Looking to redirect the Southern spotlight their way, FIELD MOB is certain they're delivering the hits to do just that. On their latest, Smoke and Shawn Jay reaffirm their status as pioneers of the Southern sound. "I feel like we're the most posturepedic group in the industry right now," declares Shawn Jay. "Meaning, we're the most slept-on artists. Other artists know that if them boys get a little bit of light, its over."

Watch and listen: FIELD MOB is about to shine.
