Hartford, CT (PRWEB) March 22, 2006 -- Connecticut hip hop record label, THA ZOO Records, is announcing the first EP record release that will be marketed to the entire nation from Connecticut. The EP features Gat Murdah, a controversial gangsta rap artist who hails from Bedford Stuyvesant - Brooklyn, New York, the same neighborhood as the late Notorious B.I.G. and hip hop mogul Jay Z. The EP is called Murdah Iz Da Streets: the 1st Degree. The official release date is set for April 1, 2006.

The campaign supporting the release is currently known throughout Brooklyn, NY as the Get A Gat promotion campaign, and it is expected to draw protests as Get A Gat t-shirts and stickers are distributed by the thousands throughout the northeast.

THA ZOO Records is known throughout Connecticut for the many well attended hip hop events produced throughout the past 5 years, and for Connecticut compilation albums featuring numerous Connecticut artists. The full length LP will be released in 2007 with support from a major record label pending negotiations.

Gat Murdah is opening for reggae artist Sean Paul on Wednesday March, 22 2006 at the Webster Theatre in Hartford.
